Project Description:
Stronger. Faster. More focused. These words echo in Under Armour’s mission statement and brand story as a company built on empowering athletes. The Stadium at the House embodies this ethos, featuring a multidimensional field ready for regulation high school football, as well as NCAA soccer and lacrosse. The facility also features an eight-lane, 400-meter competition track and seating for 1,400 fans. Team locker rooms, public restrooms and storage are located under the grandstand, while the press box and control booth are positioned at the top. Under Armour also uses the venue to evaluate its products in the pursuit of new levels of athlete performance. Infused with leading-edge technology, the facility can track and measure athletes’ performance in real time. The stadium is also just footsteps away from Under Armour’s product innovation labs, allowing teams to assess and refine products on the spot. The venue provides opportunities to host a wide range of sports competitions for the city and surrounding region, and the facility’s design echoes both Under Armour’s and Baltimore’s history through exposed raw materials that exude grit and intensity. The building facade takes visitors on a visual narrative of the company’s remarkable rise to become a leader in athletic performance. The venue also features a distinctive solar canopy that serves as an elegant visual icon while providing power for the facility. The Stadium at the House is an integral piece of Under Armour’s expanded campus on the Baltimore Peninsula, positioning the company to better empower athletes and the community long into the future.
