Seed Bank supporting Families & Farmers in Northern sri lanka

Sustainable Giving: Empowering Families and Farmers, Transforming Lives!

In the heart of Northern Sri Lanka, the economic crisis has hit hard, leaving many farmers struggling to purchase essential seedlings. Yet, there is hope and opportunity for sustainable growth and self-sufficiency.

Mission

Our mission is to empower these families by providing the resources they need to thrive, proving that with a little help, they can create a ripple effect of prosperity. We aim to provide seedlings and farming techniques to foster self-sustainability in Jaffna, rather than just monetary aid. Our focus is on enabling farmers to cultivate their fertile land and support their families.

Empowering Farmers, One Seedling at a Time

We have seen the profound impact of our efforts in the villages of Olumadu and Katkulam in the Vanni region. By distributing rice, mung beans, soy, and corn seedlings to 47 farmers, we have enabled them to continue their vital work. The results speak for themselves: 38 families, each given 10 kg of peanuts to plant, have reported an impressive harvest of approximately 300 kg of peanuts each. These farmers are eager to return a portion of their harvest, perpetuating a cycle of giving that benefits the entire community.
