Social Awareness
We continue to work on building our social awareness here at Adams and look forward to All Belong at Adams Night on February 29th. Currently, students are learning about and practicing identifying what they have in common with others as well as what makes them unique. We know that these characteristics can be either visible or intrinsic. Additionally, we are exploring the importance of connectedness. When we are connected with others, we are much less likely to pass judgment. When we work together and practice kindness, we achieve more. Our unique characteristics are something to embrace!
Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as socially aware in January:
- K: Morgan Wasek, Lydia Emrich
- 1st: Claire Richard, Rex Donner
- 2nd: Eleanor Goodell
- 3rd: Jocelyn Griggs
- 4th: Levi Sais, Maximus Kroll
- 5th: Adley Dickinson
Atoms Buddy Benches

Spirit Day
Adams Atoms and staff showed their support for the Detroit Lions. It was great to see such enthusiastic support for the team.
Michigan’s 187th Birthday
On Friday, January 26th, fourth graders at Adams celebrated Michigan’s 187th birthday. Mrs. Renfro read M is for Mitten, and then everyone enjoyed cupcakes!

PYP Learner Profile Attribute
This month, students and staff at Adams have been focusing on developing the PYP learner profile attribute inquirer. Inquirers are passionate about learning new information. Additionally, they research topics they are curious about in order to find answers to questions they have. For these reasons, inquirers are lifelong learners.
The following students are being recognized as inquirers during the month of January:
- K: Olivia Larkin, Navya Mishra
- 1: Arryn Preston, Landon Smith
- 2: Nora Kret
- 3: Madelyn McGuire, Cooper Roffe, Carter Sovereen
- 4: Kalvin Weidman
- 5: Cam Osterberg, Owen Rosen
Way to go, Adams Atoms!
100th Day of School Celebration
The 100th Day of School is a big celebration in kindergarten. Students practice all year counting to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s. Kindergarten classes celebrated by stringing 100 fruit loops on a necklace, counting their footsteps down the hall, making trail mix with 100 pieces of food, and many other activities.
Lost and Found
Unclaimed items are donated at the end of each semester.
Students should check the lost and found periodically. We have accumulated many misplaced items such as jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other personal belongings. Please label your child's belongings to help us quickly return them to their owners.
Community Programs
We want to be sure that our families are aware of the community programs available to those needing assistance. At this time, the following programs are available to Adams students/families:
The Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Backpack Buddies Program is available again this school year. Contact the office at 923-6037 if you would like to receive the food backpack.

Reporting Absences Through ParentVUE
Parents/Guardians can report student(s) absent via ParentVUE. This feature appears as a blue button titled "Report Absences" on the app's main page or website.
- Parents/guardians can report absences for a single day or multiple days.
- Report each student individually. Do not enter additional students in the notes section.
- For each absence reported, parents/guardians must provide a detailed note explaining the reason. If you report your student as sick, please list the symptoms your student is experiencing. The note will help school attendance staff select the correct attendance code.
- If you have a legal or medical document, please upload it with the absence, or provide it to the school attendance staff upon your student's return. Parents/guardians can still call to report an absence at 989-923-6037.
