ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
For her solo exhibition, What Nature Whispers, classical realist painter Christina Grace Mastrangelo (b.1983) explores the delicate affinities between nature and humans. Inspired by the natural world and compelled to find grounding and peace in her surroundings, Mastrangelo’s exhibition features orchestrated conversations between still life, figure, flora, and fauna that suggest the depth and interconnectedness of us all. In tribute to their existence, each object is carefully and realistically rendered, and yet the subtle idealizations and compositional choices lead us beyond mimesis into the captivating realm of the sublime.
The exhibition showcases approximately forty paintings and drawings by Mastrangelo, spanning from the later years of her studies in Florence to the present day, including twenty-seven new artworks debuting at this show.
