Project Description:

Champions Hall is the centerpiece of Centre College’s $55 million Initiative for Wellness and Athletic Excellence (IWAE), a bold transformation of the southern edge of this historic 200-year-old campus. The 135,000-square-foot facility redefines wellness and athletic performance, setting a new benchmark for top-ranked residential liberal arts colleges nationwide.

At the heart of Champions Hall is a world-class aquatics center featuring a 10-lane, 50-meter Olympic pool with a movable bulkhead, an integrated diving well with 1- and 3-meter diving boards, and seating for 700 spectators. Just steps away, a six-lane, 200-meter indoor track — named in honor of legendary Centre coach Lisa H. Owens — encircles a versatile turf infield. With seating for 800, this dynamic space hosts major campus events, including commencement, concerts and debates.

Beyond competition, Champions Hall is designed to promote whole-body wellness. A 6,000-square-foot strength and conditioning center fuels athletic training, while a dedicated nutrition hub offers an educational component to support student wellness. Hospitality and engagement areas, modern locker rooms and multipurpose spaces for activities such as yoga create an environment that fosters both individual and team success.
