“If you don’t build your own dreams someone will hire you to build theirs.” – Tony Gaskins
What is an Entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur is a person who starts and develops a business. They often take financial and career risk in beginning of the business, but they can also reap the rewards when and if the business is ultimately successful.
Develop your Entrepreneurial Skills
Recognize Opportunities - Entrepreneurs know how to recognize a problem and how to look for new solutions. If there is a task that is bothering you, think of all the creative ways you can solve it.
Learn from Setbacks- Failure really is just a First Attempt In Learning. When you try something and it does not work out, learn everything you can from the experience. Many times learning what does not work can lead to something that does work.
Develop Your Financial Literacy
Learn about Financial Literacy- Learning about money when you are still in school will provide you with a solid financial foundation.
Set Goals- Write your goals down and track them using digital notes, traditional pen-and-paper, or voice memos. Smart business people insist on setting SMART goals.
Studies show that people are 42% more likely to achieve goals that have been written down.
It takes hard work to create something new. They often get up early and work hard all day. When starting out, they work long hours for little or no pay. It also means not giving up, even when others doubt you.
Build Your Entrepreneurial Mindset Activity
- What is the one thing you want to change right now?
- What will that change do for you, what is important about that happening?
- In a word or two, describe what you are feeling right now about making this change - What is causing that feeling?
- What is stopping, blocking, or slowing you down right now?
- What actions can you take to change that? What needs to happen?
- Predict and list a couple of obstacles to may get in the way of you following through with this change.
- How will you make sure those obstacles doesn't stop you? What do you need to remember, do, or know?
