ARTIST STATEMENT

Who would have thought getting in trouble for running up and down the stairs as a child with Dash’s costume on from The Incredibles reciting every line from the movie would lead to me graduating with a BFA in acting? Over the years I have learned more introverted in social situations, and being an actor gives me the chance to fully express the full spectrum of my personality in ways I don’t in real life. this process of growing as an actor, I have found the importance of having fun and bringing laughter to storytelling throughout my life. I started in theatre at a very young age by attending a performing arts elementary school. We were challenged every day as kids to use our imagination. I have so many memories of having fun laughing with my classmates.

I believe Laughter is a joyous and powerful experience to have with someone. I want to play characters that have a sense of humor. Comedy has the chance to deliver a message or concept without feeling like you are being forced fed with information. I feel sometimes it is human nature to laugh at very serious things. Sometimes a grandmother falling down the steps is just funny. Some of my best memories in life are when I’m laughing. I'll never forget the moments I shared with my mother growing up watching That’s So Raven and how much the actors had us crying and laughing every episode.
