Painted Beach

For this project my goal was to create a picture that looks painted. I did this by moving my camera when I took the photo which made the ocean look painted. I feel really good about this piece, I meeted my goal of what i wanted to accomplish. It really shows the painted lines of the photograph. When people first see my picture I would like them to think its painted and not a picture.

Time Travel

For this picture I took a photo of moving car lights at night, I set my shutter speed very low almost like a video to capture these lines. My goal for this piece was to capture Long exposure which I did through moving cars with their headlights and taillights. I really like how this piece is all black and only shows the bright colors of car lights. I also really like how bright the colors pop out and kind of reminds me of Back to the Future. I really hope when people see this piece that they also feel like they are being traveled through time.

Bokeh 1

For this picture I took a picture of a light up tree and colorful sign. My goal for this picture was to create a picture that includes shapes of bokeh. Unfortunately I did not accomplish my goal because I struggled with getting the shapes I was looking for. I'm decently happy about this piece, mainly because I still achieved the Bokeh effect even though I didn't get what I was going for. When people see this I hope they see how beautiful Bokeh is.

Reversed Mountains

For this picture I took a photo of Eagles peak on USAFA. In photoshop I flipped the mountain while using a geometric shape. My goal for this piece was to create a seeming less geometric shape with the mountains flipped upside down. I feel pretty good about this picture because all the colors blend together and there's no sharp lines that cut the image in pieces. I hope people who see this piece see the beauty of the mountains.

Stitched Dog

For this piece I took a photo of my dog and tried to keep as much detail in the picture as possible. I switched the photo to black and white to sew the dog's hair in. My goal for this picture was to make the sewing somewhat realistic and not just random lines that look out of place. This picture is alright, I'm not the biggest fan of the background behind the dog and how unrealistic it looks. I hope my audience sees if you put your mind to anything you can make it happen.

Inside the Controller

For this picture I dismantled every little piece from an xbox controller. My main goal was to fully deconstruct an xbox controller. There were certain components I could not get out of the xbox controller. I'm pretty happy with this picture because the placement of the parts are nice as well as the background. When people see this image I want them to see what actually goes on beneath your hands.

Inside the Controller P.2

For this picture I did the exact same thing above, it's actually the same photo but converted into a B&W photo. My goal for this project was to convert the original image into something else which I chose to do Black and white. I'm not that happy over this project because it doesn’t look that good in colors and looks to be lacking something. I think a solid background would have been better for Black and white. I hope people see what is under the shell of an xbox controller when they see this.

Guided by Light

For this picture I used light to capture a certain look. I slowed down my camera's shutter speed and flashed a flashlight at a soda can which created light in a certain section. My goal for this picture was to capture light shining onto the can and nothing else. I'm actually pretty happy with this piece but I did wish that a little more light showed up. When people view my piece I want them to see how unique photos can be.

Connections

For this picture I took a picture of a snowy mountain with a tree. I flipped the tree upside down and conjoined both ends of the tree. My goal for this project was to make the tree look like it's connected to the bottom tree. I'm pretty happy with this piece because the colors are really nice and the tree looks connected. I hope when people see this image they see the connection to nature.

Brushed Sunset

For this picture I captured a sunset on the beach. While taking the photo i moved my camera side to side to create an image that looks almost painted. My goal for this piece was to capture the smoothness or the look of a painted sunset. I'm happy with this piece because the colors really pop and the picture looks to be really smooth and painted. When people see this picture I hope they think it has been painted and not shot on a camera.

Grass Stitching

For this picture I took a micro close up of grass blades. My goal for this piece was to capture the tiny grass blades. I also wanted to have a very good quality image for sewing the stitches into the grass. I'm not sure how I feel about this piece because it looks a little off and not realistic at all. Even though the project wasn't about how realistic it's supposed to be, it just looks very fake. When people first see this picture I want them to be able to see the little details of the grass and the beauty of nature.

Vibrant Four

For this picture I took a sunset of the beach. When I took the photo I moved my camera in an odd way which ended up making a perfect number four. My goal for this piece was to create an image that looks painted while moving the camera during the photo being taken. I'm very happy with this piece because I find it very unique that moving my camera randomly made a 4. When people see my photo I hope they see there is endless creativity to photography.

Bokeh 2

For this picture I took a photo of a Tree that was lit up with lights. I took the photo through my car to give the photo proportions. My goal for this photo was to capture shapes of lights. I did struggle with this project a lot because I could not get shapes with the filters we made and only was able to capture circles through my regular lens. When people see this picture I want them to see the beauty of Bokeh.

Eco-Friendly Shark

For this project we were required to make something out of trash or anything we could find to use. I chose to make a shark out of cardboard boxes. My goal was to make my art look like a shark and have many different types of trash included in it. I'm very happy with how this piece ended up turning out. When my audience sees this piece I want to show them that whatever imagination you have for art to just do it because anything is art.

Interwoven Branches

For this project I took two different photos and printed them. When I had both pictures printed out I cut them into pieces and then weaved them together. My goal for this project was to create an odd image with two different photos that shared similar characteristics. I'm not happy with this project because what I thought I was doing turned out to be wrong and I did not cut the other image as much as I wanted to. When people see this photo I want them to see how the two photos intersect with each other.

Broken

For this project I took a photo of a hand punching broken glass. My goal was to create a picture with anger in it. I'm not sure how I feel about this piece, it looks very unprofessional and I did not get the focus right. The subjects in the picture could have been more in focus and I could have used a better angle. Overall my least favorite piece. I hope when people see this photo they see the anger.
