Who am i?
My name is Teigen Pascual, I am from Squamish, BC, and I am a Canadian cyclist who has recently made the leap from BMX to elite track cycling. This transition has been an important step toward my long-term goal of getting a place on the Canadian National Team, and qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
about me
I began participating in BMX at age 6. What started as a fun thing to do with friends quickly developed into a serious pursuit after I realized that I could really take BMX to the next level. I have recently made the leap from BMX to elite track cycling. In 2025, everything changed. After years in BMX, a sport that shaped me as both an athlete and a person, I found myself facing repeated injuries and mounting mental barriers. What once felt empowering began to feel limiting. I reached a moment every high performance athlete knows too well: push forward at all costs, or have the courage to change direction. I chose change. Stepping away from BMX was not easy, but in that uncertainty, track sprint cycling called to me. With determination and very limited resources, I found a coach, secured a track bike, and began again learning a completely new discipline from the ground up. Every session demanded patience, humility, and belief. Slowly, lap by lap, I rebuilt not only my skills, but my confidence and love for competition. What started as a leap of faith has become my future. Track sprinting is now my sole focus as I head into the 2026 season and beyond. I am committed to competing at a high level, earning UCI points, and proving that setbacks can be powerful turning points. With the right support, I know I can continue this climb and represent myself and my supporters on the international stage.
ACHIEVEMENTS & PROGRESS

I am currently not listed in the rankings for track because I have not yet earned any ranking points. Attending races is essential, as they are how athletes earn points and move up the rankings. Reaching the required total of 500 points would secure me a place on the National Team and allow my funding to resume in the following years.
Track cycling
Track cycling is a bicycle racing sport held on a smooth, oval, banked track called a velodrome, using specialized fixed-gear bikes with no brakes, focusing on speed, power, and strategy in various sprint and endurance events. It's known for being fast and spectator-friendly, with cyclists competing in races. I race the sprint events where athletes compete in three separate events, which all can qualify for Olympic medals. The sport demands physical, mental and time commitments, often requiring up to 20-25 hours of training per week.
my Goals
Short-Term Goals
- Make the National team
- Earn 500 points to qualify for funding next year, and to qualify for bigger races in the future.
Medium-Term Goals
- Qualify for World Cups and World Championships
- Podium and win bigger international races (eg. World Cups)
My long-term goal is being on the podium and winning the Olympic Games
WHY FUNDING IS NECESSARY
Unlike many professional sports, track cycling athletes are typically self-funded, meaning costs must be covered personally. Making the transition from BMX to track meant losing all funding from Cycling Canada. In order to re-qualify for this funding, I am required to make:
- 500 UCI points, by racing higher level races, and getting good results in those races
- Achieving the necessary time standard during official testing events
Both of these requirements can only be met by traveling to specific races, primarily in Europe and the United States, as well as by training in Milton, Ontario, where the National Team is based. Training there is essential to improving my performance and ultimately achieving the required time standards. At present, the travel and training costs involved in meeting these requirements pose a significant financial challenge
key expenses
Without adequate support, the inability to attend these races and training camps would represent a major missed opportunity. It would limit my ability to perform at my best and significantly delay my development at a critical stage of my career. With a very short window before the next Olympic cycle, consistent access to high-level competition and training is essential to close the gap, gain the necessary experience, and give myself a realistic chance of reaching the highest level of the sport
Funding received will directly support:
- Travel & competition fees:$10,000
- Equipment & maintenance:$4,000
- Training & facility access:$4,000
- Coaching & technical support:$2,000
Each contribution directly enables me to attend the races and training opportunities that are critical to my development in the sport, particularly this year, as I continue to find my footing at the international level and work to gain the experience, confidence, and results needed to progress.
Supporters will receive visibility through:
- Logo/Name Placement: Displaying a company name or logo on my bike or helmet
- Public Shout-outs: Thanking donors publicly via social media, personal websites, or at events
- Video Content: Recording and sending personal thank-you videos
- Progress Updates: Providing regular reports on training, competition schedules, progress, and results to keep donors engaged and informed about the impact of their contribution.
I’m looking to build partnerships with brands that genuinely share my values of hard work, community, and long-term growth. As an athlete working toward the Olympic level, I care about consistency and building real relationships, not just short-term visibility. Being supported by organizations that value perseverance, healthy lifestyles, and local community involvement allows me to represent them in a way that feels honest and true to who I am, both as an athlete and a person.
