This piece is was my first ever Adobe Illustrator project. I made it a tribute to my cousin, Gabe, who I lost a few years back. His ashes were used to plant a tree, and every year I plan to visit his tree. For this project I learned how to use the pen tool & the shape tool on Illustrator. The shorter snowman represents me, and the taller one represents my significant other who also wants to visit Gabe's tree with me. Over all, I like this piece a lot considering it was my first time ever touching Adobe Illustrator.
These are two different logo designs for an imaginary company called Xtreme Latitude. The one on the right was my first design, and I made the second design because I didnt like how the name of the company fit on the logo. This was used as a way to learn how to type on a non-straight path and how to personalize fonts, as well as how to make a simplistic logo using Illustrator. I wanted to incorporate a snowboard because this imaginary company makes snowboards, and at first I wanted to incorporate an extreme trick since one of the key moods they wanted was "recklessness." Eventually I figured that a skull would be suitable to express how extreme they are. I really like them both, however I wish the text on the one on the right felt more...like it belongs.
This design is a Dungeons & Dragons themed snowboard design. During the making of this, I learned how to make art brushes, symbols, and how to use the symbol sprayer in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted to make something meaningful, so I took insparation from my friend who plays D&D and has been a big importance in my life for the last two years or so. I love this piece very much, its one of my favorite pieces of art I've ever made. I made the dice set a big part of the board because it's one of the biggest symbols for D&D, and for the face of the board I took insparation from some pictures my friend uses to visualize his D&D campain's setting.
Another one of my favorite pieces, I designed a pair of Adidas completely based off the Chinese Lunar Moth. For this project I learned how to make seamless patterns, as well as how to use rubber cement. I wanted to have some animal as a "mascot" for this because I love my Converse that have little birds on them, so I eventually chose my favorite moth to be the mascot. I love how this turned out and I might see if I can get Adidas to make this into a reality one day.
This piece was inspired by Adam G, his work is known as messymod. During the process of making this, I learned how to transfer patterns from one Illustrator file to another as well as learning more about the shape builder tool. I took the pattern from the sole of Mothy Steps to put over the red sections of the snake, and then made the simplistic zigzag pattern to go on the black sections. I also made the top snake inverted compared to the bottom snake, to make it even and balanced. This was our final piece of the year and it was really fun to make. I took my inspiration from one of Adam G's snake pieces as well as the playing card sets that he designed. This is much closer to my usual art style and I was so excited when I finished it that it was the first piece to be named.
These last two pieces weren't made for school and weren't made on Adobe Illustrator, but I'm very proud of both of these and I made them both for fun.
This was made for one of the most influential people in my life, as a gift to show that he's one of my closest friends. Since he had two dogs when we met, I incorporated that into the piece to make it more personal than just a tracing of him and the foreground. This was actually my first piece going back to my first art style since 2021. I had been talking about my old pieces and he encouraged me to go back to making art after I had taken a break due to mental health and many people telling me that my pieces "weren't real art." And thanks to that talk in 2023, I started drawing this to show my gratitude.
This piece was made a few months after the piece above. I made it because I thought these two looked cute in the picture I had taken after we all finished our dinner. I also made it as a gift to show appreciation for them letting me tag along with them as often as I did. And for me, it helped me rekindle my hope for seeing my significant other one day, which will likely be the next thing I draw
