Rivers

week 4

Welcome to our class blog!

This week in PE, Year 4 enhanced their hockey skills by taking part in small matches. They practised both attacking and defending techniques, showing great teamwork, control and determination throughout the games

In geography, the children learnt all about rivers. We began by recapping the water cycle before exploring how rivers are formed. The children learnt about the upper, middle and lower course of a river, understanding how a river begins at the source and ends at the mouth.

They then investigated some of the longest rivers in the world and used atlases to locate them before labelling them on a world map.

In maths, the children have been working hard comparing and ordering decimals. They have shown excellent understanding when using place value knowledge to explain and justify their answers.

Thank you for reading our class blog!
