Children in Need

We had a great day last Friday for Children in Need! Spotty clothes, bright clothes & pyjamas across the school and lots of fun activities. A big thank you Mrs Rymer and the School Council for organising the name the bear competition which raised £45. Thank you to everyone who supported this.

Thank you also to everyone who has made donations on ParentPay. We have so far raised £123.50 for the charity on there. Voluntary donations can still be made via the dedicated ParentPay link up to Friday 5th December: https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=20041

A reminder that we will be holding our next preloved stall on Monday 24th November after school in the West Hall studio. Come along and browse all of the uniform, PE kit, coats, other clothing, toys and books that have kindly been donated. All items are free!

Christmas Fayre

We are really looking forward to the PTA Christmas Fayre next week. We are really grateful to the PTA for all of their hard work in organising this event. We hope you can all come along and support this event, with all funds raised going to help the school.

Please follow the one way system. Entry to the Fayre is through the external West Hall doors. Please exit through the main front doors of the West Wing building.

Santa visits will open at 3,45pm. £1 per child. Please follow the one-way system. Exit the front doors, turn right and re-enter the building through the double entrance doors, then turn right to the first classroom. Exit via the classroom doors. Staff will be there to direct you.

Community Safety

Following the note in the last newsletter, we would like to thank you for taking the advice on board. By parents and children coming a little later, it has made school arrival time much safer and reduced the need to queue in the morning. Please can we also remind everyone to not park on the yellow zigzags. This ensures safer sight lines and for all road users and pedestrians.

Thank you

Hand Warmers

For safety reasons, children should not bring hand warmers to school. Please can we ask that parents ensure that these stay at home.

It is being led by Rob Page from the Local Authority. Please could anyone interested ring Rawcliffe School on 01405 839282 to book a place.

Spotlight on Attendance 🔦

Please see below for the attendance figures for the last two weeks. A big shout out to 4O for achieving 100% in the second week. The overall school attendance is looking much more encouraging so let's keep it up.

Please can we remind everyone to think carefully about avoidable absences such as holidays. Please look at the guidance on the links below if you are unsure if your child is well enough to come to school. Remember, every day in school makes a difference to your child's learning.

Here are some reminder of how to support your child:

  • Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
  • Make appointments outside of school hours
  • Use the "When is to ill to ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
  • Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
  • Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.

Local Festivities 🎄

The Goole and East Riding Community Concert Band are performing a number of Christmas concerts.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing support

If you have any Safeguarding concerns outside of school hours, or are concerned a child has suffered or is likely to suffer significant harm and is at immediate risk call the Children’s Safeguarding Hub on (01482) 395500 or ring 999 (asking for the Police).
