A Pool Masterpiece of Luxury in West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks, Kent, South East

Our latest client, a young family of five, approached us with a vision to completely transform their outdoor area. Their existing pool, once a centrepiece of their garden, had become outdated and in need of a drastic makeover.

The family sought a contemporary, sleek pool that would not only serve as a place for relaxation and enjoyment but also enhance the aesthetics and safety of their home.

The Design Vision - Contemporary meets Safe, and Stylish

To meet the family’s needs, we chose stunning, on-trend Ezarri Mosaics for the pool’s interior. These mosaics introduced a vibrant, fresh look, propelling the overall design to a whole new level of sophistication.

One of the most significant changes was to the pool’s shape. Opulent Pools extended the existing structure to a square profile, opting for a modern, angular design rather than retaining the classic Roman end.

Step-by-Step Transformation - Bringing the Vision to Life!

1. Drained the pool and then started removing the tiles.

2. Roman end will be squared off to allow for the cover. The whole paving area is to be updated also.

3. Time for this pool to be mightily updated with a serious renovation!

4. All the existing tiles have been removed. Time for us to fully render the pool.

5. Excavated at the deep end, ready for the new concrete cover pit to be installed.

6. We have lowered around the existing steps and will need to extend the swimming pool out to square it off, allowing for the new safety cover.

7. A safety cover pit has now been constructed using hollow blocks filled with concrete and tied into the existing shell using rebar and resin.

8. The existing swimming pool was 40mm out of square. To make the pool perfectly square for the safety cover to run smoothly, we have installed a stainless steel mesh to the existing surface so the thick render is reinforced and tied into the existing shell.

9. All the walls are fully rendered and the pool is now perfectly square and parallel.

10. Once rendered, we fully tiled the pool and the paving was complete!

11. Here you can see the transformation. We kept the traditional Roman end style but adapted it into a modern design whilst making sure it can function with an automatic safety cover.

12. Now time to fill it up and get the cover installed!

13. Pavings look great. The customer went for a natural limestone which really suited the character of the property.

14. With the pool now filled, it's time to install the cover!

15. With the project now complete, you can really see the difference between before and after.

17. The safety cover is closed here. It blends in nicely with the property - A smart look as well as giving the owners peace of mind when their children are playing around the pool.
