Dear parents and carers, This week, we explored the power of small breaks and the big difference they can make. We learned how hitting the pause button during a busy task or day can help our bodies and minds reset and refocus. Sometimes that pause gives us a boost of energy, and other times it helps us feel calm and relaxed. In assemblies and class activities, children and staff had lots of fun practising different techniques together — from breathing exercises to chair triathlons! Even Mrs Hahn, Miss Lynch and Mrs Richards jumped in and gave it a go!
Mr Jobey enjoyed sessions with upper key stage 2 on Tuesday, taking on the triathlon! What a workout!
KS1 continued to learn about their emotions, with a special focus on the Peaceful Spot. The children discovered how taking peaceful moments can help them regulate and manage other feelings too. They also learned another breathing technique, which they can use whenever they need it — or during a visit to the calm corner.
As always, enjoy your family time together. Mrs Nicholls
reminder
We know that drop-off and pick-up is a busy time within our community. Parking is limited in the area, and we ask those parents who have to drive, to park a short distance and complete their journey to school by walking.
Please remember that when parking, children and adults may be approaching the academy on foot. We kindly ask that you approach the academy slowly and drive safely at all times.
SEWING CLUB
Our Sewing Club students have been getting creative with their sewing skills by making their very own bookmarks! This project is helping them practice stitching while creating something practical and personal they can use or gift. It’s wonderful to see their imagination and craftsmanship at work!
