Dear Beloved Spiritual Family, As we reflect on the whirlwind that was April, it becomes clear that our path as a church community has been nothing short of remarkable. While much has already unfolded, the promise of what lies ahead beckons us onward. In the recent weeks, we stood witness to the profound impact of our men's Victory Training, delved deep into our spiritual roots through the enlightening Rooted sermon series, and embarked on a transformative Alpha outreach journey. Additionally, the nearing collaboration with NG Fairlands leaders to share their property from June onwards fills us with anticipation and excitement.
Yet, amidst the triumphs, we have not been spared from life's unexpected challenges. However, in these moments, we stand resilient and unwavering. Just as Paul eloquently expressed in 2 Corinthians 4:7-10, “we are reminded that though we may be pressed on all sides, we are not crushed; confused, yet never in despair; persecuted, but never abandoned; struck down, yet far from destruction. It is in these very moments of trial that the divine power of God shines through us, a testament to His unyielding grace that sustains us.”
Join us on this extraordinary voyage with the Father, as we eagerly anticipate the upcoming Regional Build conference, an intimate Prayer and Worship night, and the strategic transition to Fairlands in June. It is a time of divine excitement and purpose, where we are keenly aware of God's guiding hand, leading us through every step of this exhilarating journey. Let us revel in the privilege of walking alongside God, for despite the trials we face, we are buoyed by His profound grace. Together, we are not just surviving – we are thriving. Embrace this momentous season with us, where every heartbeat resonates with the pulse of God's love and purpose. We are indeed, PRESSED DOWN BUT NEVER CRUSHED, as the wondrous life of Jesus shines brightly within us and through us.
With hearts set aglow and spirits ablaze, let us march forward, united in faith and emboldened by the promise of all that is yet to come. Together for Christ’s kingdom. Ps Serge Solomons
Our Strategic Focus Areas
"Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
- Acts 2:38-39 NIV
Looking Back...
On April 7th, our church embarked on an exciting new journey - the start of our Alpha Journey! Over the past 4 weeks, we have seen both new and familiar faces gather together for this important outreach journey as part of our mandate to reach the lost and make disciples. Participants have come from all different levels of faith. Longtime believers have had the opportunity to revisit foundational truths, while those newer to the faith have found a safe and supportive environment to ask the big questions freely.
We are so grateful for the dedication and support of our awesome Connect groups, setup team, facilitators as well as intercessors, who have been instrumental in covering the process in prayer, welcoming participants, providing meals, and overall creating a safe environment for great discussions, vulnerable sharing, and a true sense of community for all.
As we continue on this Alpha Journey, we look forward to seeing how the Lord will use this experience to draw people closer to Himself and to one another. Please keep this outreach in your prayers - that lives would be transformed, faith would be strengthened, and new connections would be made in our church family.
On Sunday 07 April we began the Rooted sermon series, in which we have been digging deeper into foundational Biblical truths and exploring their relevance in our lives as Christians. In the three weeks, we've covered various topics such as God and Lordship which highlighted the significance of surrendering every area of our lives to God's lordship and recognizing that we are not God's plan but a part of His divine plan.
We also dove deeper into Salvation and Baptism, emphasizing the importance of these acts of faith based on relevant scriptures. Additionally, we explored the topics of repentance, forgiveness, grace, and spiritual warfare. In a particularly insightful sermon, Ps Serge shared four strategies that the enemy uses against us: accusation, fear, lies, and deception. Repentance and forgiveness were discussed as powerful weapons in the face of spiritual warfare.
The remaining two sermons are yet to come in this series will look at Devotion, Discipleship and the Church. May we continue to dig deeper into these foundational truths and discover how they can and should transform our lives God's way. Stay encouraged and open to the incredible revelations that lie ahead.
In April 2024, we were privileged to host our men’s Victory Training from the 8th to the 13th, and it was an extraordinary experience of faith and growth. With 7 dedicated men joining us on this empowering journey, the atmosphere was charged with spiritual fervor and camaraderie. Each individual was profoundly touched by the profound teachings of God’s word and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. During this immersive program, we witnessed God's mighty hand at work as three men received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, marked by the awe-inspiring gift of speaking in tongues. Furthermore, two men chose to symbolize their commitment through the act of water baptism during our uplifting Sunday service on the 28th of April 2024.
The impact of our men's Victory Training reverberated far beyond the confines of those six days. Hearts were stirred, lives were changed, and a powerful sense of brotherhood was forged amongst us. The echoes of transformation and spiritual renewal continue to resound within each participant, driving them towards deeper connection with their faith and purpose.
Looking ahead, the anticipation for our next Victory Training, scheduled for the 9th to the 14th of September, is already building. Men from all walks of life are eager to partake in this life-altering experience, ready to embrace the journey of faith, renewal, and empowerment that awaits. As we reflect on the profound impact of our recent gathering and eagerly await the next chapter of growth and fellowship, we stand united in our commitment to journey together towards a deeper connection with God and a renewed sense of purpose. Exciting times lie ahead. As we anticipate the wonders that await us in September and beyond, let's continue to soar together in this remarkable movement of faith and brotherhood. - Ps Serge Solomons
On Sunday, April 28th, our church family gathered at Orban for Baptism Sunday! We were excited to witness Yufusu Musku and Pieter Kotze publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ through the act of baptism. Both men have recently participated in the Men's Victory Training week, and it was quite significant to see them take this next step of obedience and devotion to the Lord. We are so grateful for the privilege of walking alongside these brothers in faith. Their testimonies of God's faithfulness and the change He has brought in their lives are a beautiful encouragement to us all.
As a church, we look forward to continuing to support Pieter and Yufusu in their spiritual journeys. We know the Lord has amazing plans in store for them, and we can't wait to see how He will use them to bring glory to His name. Glory be to God for this special Baptism Sunday celebration!
