Following are just a few facts the children have learned re South America: Brazil is the largest country, the largest rainforest and highest waterfall in the world is found there, second longest river flows through, Portuguese is spoken in Brazil all other countries speak Spanish, most popular sport is soccer. Mrs. Remos brought in several artifacts from South America for the children to enjoy.

The children were also introduced to and experimented with the landform - isthmus. The isthmus of Panama connects North America to South America. An isthmus is a narrow strip of land that has water on both sides.
