This week, Year 4 have had a lovely time in the library choosing books to read for pleasure. The children enjoyed having time to relax, share stories and develop their love of reading in a calm space.
In PE, the children worked hard in gymnastics. They focused on creating partner routines, thinking carefully about balance, control and teamwork. It was great to see how well they supported each other!
In Science, we learned about the three states of matter: solids, liquids and gases. The children explored how particles behave in each state and had lots of fun acting them out. We also looked at how materials change state through freezing, melting and condensation. After this, we looked at the process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation in the water cycle.
The children who go to Science Club had an exciting challenge building a flood barrier for our little St. John’s man! With a limited budget, the children had to choose waterproof materials carefully. After purchasing their materials, the children had to create a flood defence that would survive a 1L rainfall! Their planning paid off, and their flood defence was a success! No water reached little John!
Thank you for reading our class blog.
