Through a spontaneous, stream-of-consciousness process, my artwork explores the vivid intersections of my Turkish Cypriot heritage, my Islamic faith, and my neurodivergent mind. Utilizing electric colors, intricate geometries, and metallic accents inspired by traditional Islamic and Turkish illumination art, I create densely layered compositions that pulse with continuous movement and rhythm. At the heart of my work is a deeply personal mythology. To adhere respectfully to the Islamic principle of aniconism—avoiding realistic depictions of earthly creations—I developed a unique, abstract visual language. I draw heavy inspiration from ancient Cypriot bird-faced figurines, which have always resonated with me as resembling robotic humanoids. By fusing the aesthetics of ancient artifacts with futuristic sci-fi elements, I am able to capture profound emotional connections, protective energy, and spiritual vitality without drawing physical likenesses. As a neurodivergent artist, my creative process is completely organic and unplanned. My mind thrives on pattern, interconnectedness, and intense focus, which naturally translates onto the canvas as a deliberate horror vacui—filling the space entirely with interconnected lines, wide-eyed motifs, and organic structures. My art is ultimately a visual map of how I process the world: a vibrant and deeply spiritual tapestry woven around my own personal mythology.
