Conner's Online Portfolio. Computer graphic design fall 2024

The Evergreen State

I created this piece trying to emulate the scenic beauty of Washington State. I learned the basics of photoshop and created a base of knowledge for my future projects. My goal was to experiment with different tools and get a grasp of this program. I feel pretty good about this first project as I feel it looks pretty good for the first time using the program. I hope the audience thinks of Washington as a state with natural beauty at every turn, just like I did when creating this project.

Jeff Bezos is the evil

This piece is supposed to depict the pollution that major companies cause on this planet and how they force the agenda that we as commoners have to rectify the consequences of their greed. I learned even more about the program and how to go about making shadows, color correcting images etc. My goal was to create a more refined image with my extra knowledge of the program. While the image has its flaws, I still feel good about the final product. I hope the audience will think this image and think how amazing it is.

The Man In The Forest

I created a scene in which there is a log cabin in the dark woods and a man with an axe walking towards it. I learned how to further use photoshop to manipulate the color of certain images. My goal was to create a spooky scene and something similar to the House in Alfred Hitchcock's “The Psycho”. I feel good about this project as I was able to create a somewhat spooky scary image. I hope the audience will enjoy this image.

Der Schimmelreiter

The final piece of this semester was an imitation of any book cover of a book we have read and I chose Theodor Storms’ “Der Schimmelreiter”. Throughout this project I learned how to use one single material and create a picture out of it using various techniques. My goal was to recreate a scene in the book in which the horse is walking on water. I feel very good about this project as I believe it accurately portrays the main characters and the most important scene of the book. I hope audiences will see this and think to themselves “Wow, this seems like a very cool and interesting and awesome book.”
