Y12 Photography Trip Hastings and Farleys House

The first Visual Art trip of the school year was to Hastings.

Miss Crowe and Miss Fennessy drove the school minibus to the perfect location where our students completed a shoot, inspired by Photographers Aaron Siskind and Paul Kenny.

Our photographers experimented with both analogue and digital photography. Students also scavenged for interesting items that they could bring back to school and scan.

The brief was to use their knowledge of the formal elements of photography to take at least 100 photographs that we could take back to school and develop as part of their "Sense of Place" project.

Once students finished their shoot, we drove to Lewes to visit Farleys House and Gallery for a private tour.

Students learnt about the fascinating life of the photographer and photo journalist. Students also got to view the gallery where some of her most famous photographs were on display.

Now in lessons, students are learning how to process film and develop their photographs.
