Welcome to this week's newsletter,
Firstly congratulations to our new leaders of school councils, L (left) will be our new Dirpwy Weinidog (Deputy Minister) and E (right) will be our Prif Weinidog (First Minister) to oversee all councils in our school. They are looking forward to supporting all of our councils and helping to develop our school.
Fantastic to see the effort from pupils this week in presenting their writing and wanting to learn more. As always, they are incredibly eager to get outside and use their skills. We are particularly proud of our outdoor learning opportunities and continue to get recognition from external agencies seeking to collaborate. This week will be the final cooking session for a group of our parents, thanks to their enthusiasm and the support from CanCook, we will hope to have a new community scheme rolled out in the coming months.
Correspondence has gone out to nursery parents to apply for their reception place, deadline is 17/11/25. If you've any questions about how to apply please see Miss Laird or come and see us in the office.
We look forward to welcoming you all this week when you meet with the class staff. As always we are here to support you, please come and see us if you have any questions.
Have a great weekend,
Mr Martin
A messy 🎨✨first week back in Dosbarth Alwen. In maths, we have been looking at shape monsters and making patterns and pictures. Reception have blown me away with how well they are grasping new sounds in phonics👏🏻. We've made a variety of bonfire night crafts using chalk paint on the yard, blowing and splatting paint in Udeskole and using glitter, forks, paint and toilet roll holders in the creative area to create individual pieces. Da Iawn pawb🤩
What a wonderful first week back we’ve had in Dosbarth Tegid! The children have settled in beautifully and jumped straight into lots of exciting learning. In maths, we have been finding a number on a number line and adding numbers on. Everyone has been working so hard and showing great concentration! We have also been busy creating firework pictures using watercolours – the classroom has been sparkling with colour! In literacy, we used our senses to think of describing words about a bonfire scene, coming up with some fantastic adjectives. What a brilliant start to the half term! 🎇🔥✨
This week Brenig have asked broad questions about our local area and what we know. More were posed about the River Dee...and so they set off researching. By mid-week we knew so much more about the river that it will continue into next week. Did you know the river was considered a holy river by the Celts and personified as the godess Aerfen! In Udeskole we tried an old recipe and a new recipe. Fire pizza pockets were a hit.
Dosbarth Gwynant have enjoyed their first week back after half term! We have started to explore our topic about Kings and Queens, enjoying a royal day including crowns, afternoon tea and some lovely music! We have worked hard on developing our multiplication and division skills further and have used lots of our learning powers, including peppi perseverance and have a go hydro! As always, we enjoyed our outdoor learning day by spending some time in the forest and completing jobs on the farm
Amazement as we harvested some of our crops! We'll be developing the chicken area in the coming weeks including a roof on our forest shelter, Y Caban, with thanks to your Gofundme support over the summer! The chickens waste products will be put to good use in new planting and bed areas for next year's growth.
