Remembering Tom Thorp

Otselic Valley remembers Thomas M. Thorp, a member of the Class of 1980 who later returned to serve the district as a dedicated bus driver for more than 23 years. During his time with the OV transportation department, Tom made a lasting impression on the students he transported each day. Known for his hardworking nature and dependability, he was a trusted presence for many students and families in the district. For many children, Tom’s infectious smile and his familiar backwards hat were among the first and last sights of their school day. Tom took great pride in both his work and his community. Whether through his craftsmanship, his willingness to lend a helping hand, or the relationships he built with students and colleagues, he quietly made a difference in the lives of many. The Otselic Valley community remembers Tom with gratitude for his years of service and the care he showed to the students and families he supported each day. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Tom’s wife, Tina, his children and grandchildren, and all of his family, friends, and colleagues.
