The Band Boosters consist of interested parents, grandparents and community members looking to support the band program at Spring Lake Park High School. The current board consists of Heather Samuelson, Tina Ericson, Heidi Sass, Tara Langdahl-True and Marcia Lawrence.

2023-2024 School Year
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! The SLPHS Band Boosters are excited about all opportunities our band students will have this year!
They kick off the year with their Showcase Concert on October 2nd. The theme is a Children's Concert and we're planning a handful of children's activities prior to the start of the concert. Come hear familiar songs from Star Wars, Encanto, some pop by Olivia Rodrigo, music from our favorite local composer Erika Svanoe, and a whole brand new piece of music being premiered by Mexican composer Nubia Jaime Donjuan, based on a children's book by St. Paul author Ann Hobbie (maybe she will even make an appearance!). The Showcase Concert will feature Jazz One, Varsity Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Every band student in the program will perform!
Our Annual Cribbage Tournament and Silent Auction is adding a new game! There will also be Chess Tournament in addition to Cribbage. This fundraising event will happen on Sunday, October 8 from 4-8 pm at Invictus Brewery in Blaine. Be on the lookout for more information about how to sign up!
Our students will participate in a variety of concerts throughout the year as well as have learning opportunities with various clinicians supported by boosters.
Some of our band and choir students will also be traveling internationally this year as the band and choir head to Europe! They will be headed to Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. We are so excited for this opportunity!
Band boosters has monthly meetings at the high school at 7pm. Come join us in planning for and supporting our band students and directors! Our first meeting is Thursday, Sept 14. Other meetings: Oct 12, Nov 9, Jan 11, Feb 8, Mar 21, Apr 11, and May 9.
2022-2023 School Year
April 2023 - It has been a fun-filled year for the SLPHS Band Boosters. Our Cribbage Tournament started the year off to a great start! The band has been busy with concerts including our Showcase concert in October, and December and March concerts for all three bands (Varsity Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble) and Jazz bands. They have also participated in various Honor Bands and other events. Our end of the year concerts are coming up in May and June. The band and choir took a trip to Chicago in November where they were able to play and sing as well as see the sights! The Boosters have sponsored guest artists and clinicians throughout the year including: composer Aakash Mittal, horn coach Allie Jensen, jazz clinician Leighton Tuenge and flutist Heather Samuelson. Additional exciting news includes our 2024 Spring Break trip to German, Austria and the Czech Republic for both band and choir. Our students are busy fundraising for this amazing opportunity! As we wrap up the year, we appreciate all the support from the families and friends of our band community. Thank you!
Sept 2022 - We are so excited to start another year of Band Boosters! We have some great fundraisers coming up to support our students in their musical journey. The band and choir are going on a tour in Chicago this November and we are thrilled to be able to support them on this adventure. Please be on the lookout for booster information coming from the band directors in August. We will also be having a Band Booster meeting in September. We'd love to have more parents of students in all grades get involved! If you have an incoming freshman, this is a great way to get involved and support the band program.
We are having a Gertens Fall Mums fundraiser from August 8 - 23, with delivery on September 14. There is a short window for ordering so be on the lookout for information from the band directors! We are also hosting another Cribbage Tournament and Silent Auction at Invictus Brewery on Sunday, September 25th from 4-8pm. Tickets information will also be coming from our directors or check out our facebook page for more information. We are in the process of collecting donations for the Silent Auction so please contact Heather Samuelson or slphsbandboosters@gmail.com if you would like to help or make a donation.
2021-2022 School Year
Our Band and Choir students visited Duluth the first weekend in April. They performed at North Branch High School, had clinics and visited both University of Wisconsin Superior and St. Scholastica, saw the show Ragtime, visited Canal Park, the Aquarium, Glensheen Mansion and Gooseberry Falls.

In combination with the Cribbage Tournament Fundraiser at Invictus Brewing Co. in Blaine, MN on Sun 10/3/2021, there will also be a silent auction, with all proceeds supporting Spring Lake Park High School Band Boosters. We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the individuals and businesses for these generous donations! Bidding opens online the week prior to the event on the SLPHS Band Boosters Facebook page. To bid, just comment on the photo of the auction item with your bid and add additional comments for higher bids (please bid in whole dollar increments). On Sun 10/3/2021, at 3pm CDT, the highest current bid and bidder will be entered onto the bid sheet at the event, and bidding will continue both at the venue and online until bids close at 7pm Sun 10/3/2021. If online bids are the winning bids, winners will be contacted, and items can be picked up or delivered (if winner is local) as soon as payment is received. If the winner is not local, winner is responsible for shipping and items will be shipped as soon as payment is received. Please keep your eyes out in case additional items are added throughout the week as they become available.
