HURRICANE SEASON

June 1st through November 30th

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) National Weather Service forecasters at the Climate Prediction Center are predicting above-normal hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin this year. This is due to a confluence of factors, including near-record warm ocean temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean, development of La Nina conditions in the Pacific, reduced Atlantic trade winds and less wind shear, all of which tend to favor tropical storm formation.

Now is the time to make your preparations and plans!

Please visit CT.gov to learn about what to do to be prepared before, during and after a hurricane.

SEE (Senior Enrichment Experience) Projects

Town Hall

Town Hall was fortunate to have Jonathan Curtain work with us for his SEE project. Jonathan spent a great deal of his time with the Registrar of Voters, learning all about the voting process and working at a referendum vote. He also spent time with the Assessor, Animal Control Officers, Finance, Fire Marshal, First Selectman, Tax Department, Technology, Land Use, Town Clerk and Parks and Recreation Department. He was a great asset to all of the departments during the time he spent with us!
