Taking care of ourselves. wEEK 1

Welcome back, Year 4! We’ve only been back at school for four days, but we’ve already learnt so much!

Our PSHE topic this term was about Health and Wellbeing. We began by thinking about physical health – discussing ways we can keep our bodies healthy through exercise, eating well, and good personal hygiene. One of our favourite activities was learning about dental hygiene. We had great fun practising how to brush our teeth properly and even role-playing as dentists!

Next, we explored what it means to feel calm. We talked about places that help us relax and created ideas for personal calm spaces we can go to when we need a moment to reset.

We then focused on the importance of celebrating mistakes. The children had thoughtful discussions about how making mistakes helps us learn, grow and improve. Together, we created a positive class display called 'Why We Love Mistakes' to remind us that every error is an opportunity to learn.

To finish our topic, we looked at ways to support our mental health and relaxation. The children enjoyed trying out some chair yoga and mindful breathing exercises, leaving everyone feeling calm, focused and refreshed.

It’s been a brilliant start to the term, well done Year 4!
