Key Club Omaha, Nebraska

When Wenjun Liu, 17, first discovered Key Club through a mutual friend, she couldn’t wait to see what opportunities would come. Coming out of the pandemic, she wanted to find a space where she would belong. Key Club provided a welcoming community of members who shared the same values as her.

After joining the club, Wenjun pursued positions of leadership, serving as both a club officer, a district board member, and, eventually, the district governor. Throughout her journey, she has made countless memories. She holds dear the service opportunities, district meetings, and conventions that have connected her to others. Attending district and international conventions has allowed her to make friends with Key Club members across the country and even the globe.

Looking back to the start of her Key Club involvement, Wenjun encourages underclassmen to put themselves out there and find a place where they are surrounded by people that hold the same values.

District Board Members Carissa and Harrison have a fun time while waiting for attendees of the 2024 District Convention to arrive. After serving two years on the board, Carissa encouraged Harrison to serve in a leadership position this past year.

Emily, a Key Club International Trustee from North Carolina, soon became close friends with Governor Carissa after being assigned to the Nebraska-Iowa District. Though it is their first time meeting in person, Carissa states it feels like they have been best friends for a lifetime.

Key Club members spend a fun night bonding over personal interests, such as an amazing High School Musical song.

Despite living hundreds of miles apart, Key Club has brought Jasmine and Taylyn together.

District board meetings, district conventions, and international conventions spent together have allowed Taylyn, Wenjun, and Leah become close friends outside of Key Club. They bond over musicals, dance, and their love of music.
