Japan - Day 10 January 1, 2024. Harajuku, Shibuya

Kyle went off on his own. The rest of us went to Harajuku.

Harajuku shopping was what Kali was waiting for! Not sure if it was because we got there so early or because of the holidays, but Takeshita street was really empty! Crowd was minimal and there was space in stores to move... mind you not very many of the stores were open yet.

I think my dad had a similar Toyota version of this. His was beatup with a wooden bumper.

A lot of stores in Harajuku were also closed for New Year's. But, we walked around, looking at what we could.

I got to visit the main Yohji Yamamoto store. All the other stores around it were closed for New Years though (Comme, Issey Miyake, Undercover, Sacai, etc)

Kirk and Kali went in search of some more shopping. I took a bit of a detour to try to see the Meiji Jingu shrine. It was so busy though. After walking up to the entry gate, there was a giant line to go in. There was no movement for like 10 minutes and it was close to dusk already, so I gave up and walked back down the hill and headed back to the hotel.

After a full day of shopping we had dinner then had to go out for some dessert! Found a little tart shop that was open late.
