Anita Soos Silvermine Guild Artist | 2010 - present

I have exhibited widely across Connecticut, where I live and work. In 2010, I was juried into the Silvermine Guild of Artists, a community that has provided both a pivotal platform for my work and a meaningful place of connection. At Silvermine, I have contributed not only as an exhibiting artist but also by lending my creative vision to reimagining the organization’s brand—strengthening ties between my artistic practice and the broader arts community.
Cadence 1015, oil monotype, 18 x 18 inch, $1,800.

Drawn to the natural world, I have been photographing the rhythms of the natural world for over forty years, translating those observations into large-scale charcoal drawings and richly layered oil monotypes. The Cadence series reflects my deep fascination with the repetitions, syncopations, and shifting movements found in rivers, oceans, trees, and patterns of light-fleeting moments of change that can never be repeated.

In the print studio, I work in an intuitive, stream-of-consciousness process, immersing myself in color and texture, building layer upon layer of pigment into an atmospheric resonance, evoking the cadence of water and the natural world’s ever-changing pulse.
