Welcome Back

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer holiday. Everyone has settled well into their new classes very well and have made a great start to the new school year!

Please feel free to chat to me outside school in the morning or contact the office to make an appointment if you have any ideas, suggestions or concerns that you wish to discuss.

Have a lovely weekend,

Well done to Amelie who won a medal for taking part in a gymnastics competition.

Happy Birthday/Penblwydd Hapus

We have lots of children celebrating their birthday's this month!

Staffing

Firstly, I must start with an apology, in the last newsletter I did not thank Mrs Christine Owen who retired from her role in Breakfast club. The good news is that Mrs Owen is continuing as our Caretaker.

I would like to welcome Mrs Louisa Jones to the staff team. Mrs Jones will be teaching in Year 1 and 2 and she settled has in really well into life at Minera School

Contact Details and Medical Information

Please ensure that we have up to date contact numbers for your child, particularly if you’ve had a new mobile phone over the holidays or you have any updated medical information.

Medication

If your child is taking prescribed mediaction, ideally children should be given their medication before and after school. If this is not possible, please complete the consent form on our school website:https://minera-aided-primary-school.secure-primarysite.net/medication-in-school/ or come into school to give your child their dose.

Healthy Snacks

If your child brings snack into school, this can only be fruit, in line with WelshGovernment Guidelines - no crisps, cereal bars etc.

School Uniform

All children look really smart at the beginning of term. Please make sure all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child's name on.

Holiday Request Forms

Parents do not have an automatic right to withdraw pupils from school during the school term for a holiday., Headteachers have discretion to authorise a holiday of up to 10 days during term time, over 10 days can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

Holiday request forms are available on the school website https://minera-aided-primary-school.secure-primarysite.net/holiday-request-form/
