Teachers' Training & Parents and Serving Ones' Conference (Sydney, Australia)

Praise the Lord for the timely infusing and encouraging training and conference!

We are delighted to announce the Teachers' Training & Parents and Serving Ones' Conference to be held in Sydney. Brother Ricky Acosta will be joining us.

The Teachers' Training will be held on Friday 30 August 2024 and The Parents and Serving Ones' Conference will be held from Saturday 31 August - Lord's Day 1 September 2024 at Local Churches Blending Centre in Sydney at 169 Foxall Rd North Kellyville NSW 2155.

We strongly recommend everyone to attend in person. Zoom will be available for saints to join from other localities if they cannot attend in person. We recommend saints to cluster and watch together rather than individually.

Who should attend?

  • TEACHERS’ TRAINING: Only those who are serving children or highschoolers and responsible brothers should attend this training. No children and highschoolers should attend this training.
  • PARENTS AND SERVING ONES’ CONFERENCE: This conference is open to all parents or saints aged 17 years and above, who are burdened for the care of the children, highschoolers and young people. Young couples or couples-to-be are especially encouraged to join. No children and highschoolers should attend this conference.

Teachers' Training

Date: 30 August 2024 (Friday)

Fee (in Australian Dollars):

  • $25 per adult joining physically (covers lunch, drinks, snacks and outlines).
  • $10 per adult joining physically but has a special diet and is bringing their own food.
  • $10 per person joining via Zoom.
  • There is no fee required for those attending on Zoom from the South Pacific Islands.

Parents and Serving Ones' Conference

Date: 31 August - 1 September 2024 (Sat - Lord's Day)

Fee (in Australian Dollars):

  • $50 per adult joining physically (17 years old & above) to cover lunch, drinks, snacks and outlines.
  • $10 per adult joining physically but has a special diet and is bringing their own food.
  • $10 per person joining via Zoom.
  • $5 per child (5 – 11 years of age) to cover food cost.
  • There is no fee required for a child physically joining but has a special diet and is bringing their own food.
  • Free (4 years of age and under).
  • There is no fee required for those attending on Zoom from the South Pacific Islands.

Registration

The registration is now closed.

Child Minding Service

There will not be any arrangements for child minding on Friday 30 August, during the Teachers’ Training.

Children should be cared for at the Multi-function building. Babies should be cared for in the nursery at the Main Building. Please bring for younger children, the necessary things to keep them engaged e.g. books and toys. The parents will be required to share responsibilities in caring for the children, together with volunteers from every district.

The meetings will be available via Zoom. We will provide an exclusive WiFi channel to listen to the meeting. Please bring your own device.

The highschoolers and university age young people are encouraged to help care for the children in coordination with the parents. Please indicate on the Volunteer for Children Minding form below if you can help.

Hospitality and Transport

All interstate saints must organise their own hospitality, airport pickup and transport, to and from the training and/or conference.

For saints from overseas, the church in Sydney can provide hospitality and transportation. Hospitality can be provided for up to 2 days before and 2 days after the training and conference.

Saints arriving by plane should book flights to arrive latest at the airport by 4 pm Thursday, 29 August, if attending the Teachers’ Training or by 4 pm Friday, 30 August if only attending the Parents and Serving Ones’ Conference. You may arrive at 5 pm if saints arriving from overseas. You may have to arrange your own airport pick up if you arrive after this time.

Any saints returning to their localities by plane on the Lord’s day, 1 September, should book their flights to depart no earlier than 4:30 pm for interstate saints and 5:30 pm for overseas saints to ensure they can arrive at the airport in time for their flight.

Interpreting

Interpreting into Mandarin will be provided only for the Parents and Serving Ones' Conference. We will provide an exclusive WiFi channel to listen to the interpreting via Zoom on your own device.

Please bring your own earphones.

Special diet

Anyone, including children, with special diets must bring their own food. We are unable to cater for special dietary needs. Soy milk and low fat milk will be provided. Saints who have a special diet and bring their own food will have the fee reduced to AUD $10 for the Teachers' Training and AUD $10 for the Parents and Serving Ones' Conference. There is no fee required for a child physically joining that has a special diet and is bringing their own food.

What to bring

  • Device and earphones for Zoom access, if you need interpreting to Mandarin.
  • Old and New Testament Recovery Version Bible, and Hymnal.
  • Pen, highlighter and notepad.
