Term 1 Sports Selections
A big congratulations all the Year 7-10 students who jumped online to select their Term 1 sport. Students were sent an email yesterday at 5 pm confirming their sport choice. Lists have also been put up on the PE notice board for students to check.
Consent (and payment if applicable) have been emailed to parents and carers today. Given the tight turnaround in Term 1, we would appreciate everyone's swift response. Term 1 Sport will start next Wednesday 19 February. Students will need to bring any necessary sporting gear or equipment to school on this day.
A friendly reminder for specific sports:
- Surfing - Each week, your child must have a Red Rash Shirt, as indicated in the online consent form signed by parents. The red shirt ensures group safety and clear identification of our students when in the water.
- Futsal and Basketball - Students who have chosen to 'leave from the venue' can stay at the Cavanbah Centre, but must pay the casual fee to the Cavanbah Centre to use the courts after our booking ends. Our booking concludes at 2:30 pm.
- Waivers for Circus, Trampolining, and Parkour - The waiver must be given to our school office before your child departs for Circus Arts next Wednesday. Circus Arts will NOT allow your child to participate without one. Please check your emails for the attachment (there are also printouts at the office). This waiver is separate from the general school consent.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable sports experience for all students. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Student timetables
Our school's day is organised on a 5 period, 7-day rotating timetable. If you aren't sure what timetabled day of the week it is, you can find this information on our school calendar.
What can students do if they have lost their timetable?
When students lose or come to school without their timetable it can cause them undue anxiety. They can miss out on vital learning in the classroom as they try to find out where they should be. It's important that your child stores a printout of their timetable in a secure location in their bag, a diary and/or locker.
If your child needs a new printout of their timetable, they can independently:
- Visit their Year Advisor (in their faculty staff room) to request another printout.
- Log in to their Student Portal and access the online version (they can do this at home or in the school Library - Library staff are on-hand to answer any questions).
- Use the timetable checker screen in the office (they will need their student card to do this)
NOTE - Due to the morning workload on the phones and counters, the office staff CAN NOT help your child access another copy of their timetable before the bell goes. It is recommended that students have a look at (and print out where possible) their timetable online before coming to school.
Students can find a digital copy of their timetable on their DoE Student Portal by:
- Logging into their Department of Education student portal
- Clicking on the 'Edval' tab
- The current timetable will be available for viewing (and printing)
- At school, students can also access their student portal using the computers in the Library.
School photo day
Tomorrow - Friday 14 February
Tomorrow is our whole school photo day. Students are to wear their WHITE SHIRT (not the teal sports shirt).
All orders are to be made via The School Photographer's website.
If your family would like a sibling photo taken, sibling photo order forms can be collected at the school office. All sibling photos will be taken at lunchtime in the Hall.
IMPORTANT PHOTO INFORMATION:
Students must give their completed envelope directly to the photographer on photo day. The school office is NOT collecting these envelopes.
- Payment details are on the envelope - please do NOT pay the school
- Students are to wear their white polo shirt (NOT their sports teal polo), with navy shorts/skirt or girls check tunic/skirt
- Students with a 'NO Permission to Publish' status will NOT have their individual photo included in their class group. Please be aware of this when ordering group photos.
- The School Photo catch up day is Tuesday 25 February for any students who missed their individual photo.
- Every student is required to have an individual photo taken, regardless of whether you are purchasing it or not (the school uses these photos on the student's school profile in our database and also on the student cards).
First Nations Homework Club

Our First Nations students are invited to join us every Monday from 3:40 to 4:40 pm for the First Nations Homework Club, a supportive space where First Nations students can receive academic assistance, cultural support, and mentoring. Whether they need help with assignments, exam preparation, or just a quiet place to study, our club provides a welcoming environment with knowledgeable tutors and occasional community mentors.
It’s a great opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together.
All First Nations students are welcome — no sign-up required! Come along, bring your homework, and let’s succeed together!
Students must be picked up from school as we are unable to provide transport.

We want to break down barriers for girls in sport, and increase female participation in sport. You can read up on us more at:
On Saturday 8 March 2025, which is also International Women's Day, we will be hitting Megan Crescent field and Lennox Head Beach, for our first ever GDO event in Lennox Head. Sports sessions are facilitated by the state's leading sporting codes, alongside professional female sports athletes.
