July Newsletter Green Bay Women's Basketball

Academic National Champions!!!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our team earned the #1 GPA in ALL of Division I Women’s Basketball last season, finishing with an outstanding 3.86 GPA! This honor reflects the relentless dedication our student-athletes bring not only to the court but to the classroom. Since the award's inception in the 1995–96 season, our program has achieved 14 top-10 finishes, been crowned five-time national champions, and spent 20 years ranked in the top 25. Our standard of excellence runs deep—because how you do anything is how you do everything.

Summer Workouts

Summer workouts are officially in the books! Over the past 8 weeks, our team put in the work—competing hard, embracing a growth mindset, and pushing each other to get better every single day. It was exciting to watch their progress both on and off the court as they grew together as a team. We wrapped things up the best way we know how: with a fun (and very competitive) game of kickball to celebrate an incredible summer together!

Women in Leadership Panel

Panelists from Left to Right: Molly Vandervest (President, The Bellin Health Foundation, Inc.), Laurie Butz (President & CEO, Capital Credit Union), Abbey Sutherland (Head Women's Volleyball Coach, UW-Green Bay), Kathy Treankler (CEO, Trinks Inc.)

We had the honor of hosting a Women in Leadership Panel, welcoming four inspiring women leaders from our community to join us for lunch and an impactful conversation with our team. They shared powerful insights, honest truths, and meaningful advice that truly resonated with our student-athletes. It was a valuable experience and a great opportunity for our team to learn from women who lead in different fields.

Green Bay Rockers and Blizzard Games

This summer, our team had a blast cheering on the Green Bay Rockers and Green Bay Blizzard! At the Rockers game, Coach Karius kicked things off by throwing out the first pitch, and our players got in on the fun with some on-field promo games. Later this month, we got to experience the high energy and action of the Blizzard game, where the team had a great time taking it all in and cheering them on to victory. We always love showing up for other teams in our community!

Ron Wolf's Hall of Fame Clubhouse Party

One of the highlights of the summer was attending Ron Wolf's Hall of Fame Clubhouse with some of our biggest supporters! This fun evening—held just outside the iconic Lambeau Field—was an auction item from our Fore Hoops Golf Outing, and it did not disappoint. It was the great way to connect, compete, and have some fun together in true Wisconsin fashion with those who support our program so generously.

Lake Day

Our month definitely wasn’t short on great days—and our visit to the Bush family lake house was another one of our favorites! Huge thanks to the Bob and Carol Bush families for welcoming our team for a relaxing (and competitive, of course) day by the water. From soaking in the views to playing games and enjoying some great food, it was a great way to spend time together this summer!
