Alumni spotlight

Q&A with Rob Kohlus, class of 2020

Rob graduated from the Mount in 2020, and is now working as a labor and employment attorney.
My career as a student athlete helped me realize my hunger for achievement and instilled a sense of discipline in me.

Q: What events did you swim?

I primarily swam the 100 and 200-yard fly.

Q: What are some of your favorite memories from being part of the MSMC swim team?

I really enjoyed the competition and eating breakfast together every morning after practice. The team was like a family.

Q: What was your proudest accomplishment as a swimmer at MSMC?

It would probably have to be my 200 fly records for the school, and although no longer standing, for the conference.

Q: How did being on the swim team impact your college experience?

Being on the team gave me an instant set of friends and kept me regimented throughout school.

Q: What have you been doing since graduating?

I graduated law school and passed the bar exam. I am currently working as a labor and employment attorney.

Q: How did your experiences as a student-athlete at MSMC influence your career or personal life?

My career as a student athlete helped me realize my hunger for achievement and instilled a sense of discipline in me.

Q: Are you still involved in swimming or any other sports?

Although I no longer swim, I do frequently lift weights.

Q: any advice you would give to current swimmers or student-athletes at MSMC?

Take full advantage of your education at the Mount and train hard.

Freshman Spotlight

Q&A with kyle giuliano, Class of 2028

Kyle is a freshman Theology major from Old Bridge, New Jersey.
I love being a part of the team because we are a family and we all look out for each other.

Q: What events did you swim?

The 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle.

Q: What motivated you to join the MSMC swim team?

I love swimming, and when I visited the school and met Coach Chris I knew it was home.

Q: What is your favorite part about being on the team?

I love being a part of the team because we are a family and we all look out for each other.

Q: What has been your proudest moment as a member of the MSMC swim team so far?

The way we cheer each other on and support each other in races.

Q: How would you describe the team atmosphere?

It is awesome we are always there for each other.

Q: What is your major, and how are you balancing academics with athletics?

My major is Theology, and I am balancing very well with academics.

Q: anything else you’d like to share about your experience as an MSMC swimmer?

It is amazing and it has been a fun year so far!
