Principal Message

Dear Families, As we head into the Victoria Day long weekend, I want to thank everyone for the continued energy, care, and commitment you bring to our school community each day. While the long weekend offers a welcome opportunity to rest and recharge, we also recognize that we are entering a very busy stretch leading to the end of the school year. Over the coming weeks, our calendars will be filled with year-end learning activities, celebrations, assessments, field trips, transition planning, and special events. Thank you in advance for your flexibility, teamwork, and dedication as we support students through this important final part of the year. A reminder that our final School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting of the school year will take place on Tuesday, May 20. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership and support of our SAC members throughout the year and look forward to closing out another successful year of collaboration together. We hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and enjoyable Victoria Day long weekend with family and friends. Mrs. Carr-Jeschke & Mrs.McNamee

Fun Day Parent Volunteers Needed

Our school wide Fun Day will be Friday June 5, 2026. We require some parent volunteers to help BBQ and prepare hot dog lunches for the classes. Volunteers will be needed from 11-12:15 PM (approximately). If you are available to volunteer, please email Mrs. Lee at seunghee.lee@ecsd.net

Reminder: Air Quality Guidelines

With the warmer weather comes the risk of poor air quality due to wildfires. Air quality is to be monitored similar to extreme cold temperatures. The suggested guideline is that students do not go outside when air quality reaches an index of 7 or more. Principals are to carefully monitor the air quality in their area when the index reaches levels of 4-6, indicating a moderate risk. Please note that this could impact end of the year activities and field trips that are dependent on being outdoors. Should an activity or field trip need to be cancelled due to poor air quality, parents will be notified via email the morning of the activity. Every effort will be made to try and rebook cancelled activities/field trips. In cases where this is not possible, we will work to ensure students participate in an alternate activity at the school. Families will be reimbursed for missed activities/field trips on Powerschool.

School Council Corner

Please see the following communication from your SAC Executive: Hello families, A quick reminder to support our Staff Appreciation Fundraiser—This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and recognize the incredible dedication, care, and effort our teachers, support staff, and educators show every day. Donations can be sent to stpaulyeg@hotmail.com.  Please include your child(ren)'s name in the message for acknowledgements.  Our next School Advisory Council meeting will be held on May 20 at 6:30 PM.  Your voice and participation help shape our school community, and we would love to see you there.  Please remember to send in any agenda items in advance to widnerjazz@gmail.com. This will be our final meeting of the school year and it will offer a great chance to come together to reflect and celebrate the many contributions we made together this year.     Thank you for your continued support—we hope you can join us!

Staff Parking Lot

A reminder that the staff parking lot is not to be used for student pick ups or drop offs. There are staff vehicles, as well as Division vehicles coming in and out of the lot, making it very unsafe for students. Please choose safety or convenience and drop students off in designated drop off areas: 96 Ave in front of the school or 145 Street to the west of the school. Thank you for your support with this!

Enjoy Your LONG Weekend!
