This week’s Star Writer is Delilah from 1P. Delilah has been awarded Star Writer for her wonderful use of adjectives in her descriptive writing about the Toy Story characters. Delilah worked hard creating this piece choosing good adjectives to describe the appearance of the characters. Well done, Delilah!

This week’s Star Writer is Ivy from 6T.

Ivy has been awarded Star Writer for her narrative writing inspired by the book Friend or Foe. Ivy worked hard creating this piece, writing at length with much description and experimenting with new, more sophisticated vocabulary. Well done!

This week's star writer is Joe from 4W who has wowed us all with his fantastic non-chronological report based on his own fictional creature, the chocosaurus. Joe has written in a wonderful formal report style, informing the reader about his creature's habitat. He has remembered to include lots of technical language from the class word bank and has used varied sentence openers, including a range of fronted adverbials. Be proud, Joe. Well done.

This week’s Star Writer is Imogen Shelton in 1K for her amazing story map retelling the story of the Little Red Riding Hood. She was able to sequence the story correctly and add captions to her drawings.

Moorlands Star Writer this week is Isobel from 5S who wrote a wonderful one-sided argument on arguments against poaching pheasants. Isobel's work was neatly presented and included lots of modal verbs, relative clauses and fronted adverbials. Her word choices and manipulation of sentence structure were amazing. Well done, Isobel

This week's star writer is Syeda in 6C. She wrote a fantastic diary in role as a character from the WW2 novel 'Friend or Foe'. She showed excellent understanding of the genre of writing and wrote in an informal style, with some colloquial language, packing the diary with emotive thoughts and feelings. She used a variety of sentence openers to keep her work interesting and it was a joy to read. Well done, Syeda.

This week’s Star Writer is Ada in 2S. She has been working really hard on her writing. She created sections for a Wanted Poster about Reginald Rake from Julia Donaldson's 'The Scarecrow's Wedding'. She used lovely, neat writing on the lines with finger spaces, lots of adjectives to describe Reginald and super punctuation, including exclamation marks! What a fantastic start to Year 2 Ava, we are very proud of you!
