Basketball
Basketball defeated Willoughby South in the first round of the Division 1 Tournament before falling at Strongsville in the Sectional Final. US enjoyed notable regular season wins over Maple Heights, Shaker Heights, Benedictine, and Hawken. Justin Belcher '24, Duke Brennan '24, and Jonathan Diaz '24 served as team captains.
"The Basketball Program at US is unique and has impacted me in ways that other sports never could. Being a part of a team with only twelve guys allows a tight bond to be formed between each player and coach that other sports can't offer. Being able to enjoy a team lunch together before playing some of the best teams in Ohio is truly what makes the program special. I can't thank my coaches and teammates enough for the countless hours they put into this program, as their drive is what makes me better every day. Hockey
Hockey fell in the State Championship Game at Nationwide Arena after defeating St. Charles Prep 6-0 in the State Semifinals. US won the GLHL Tournament after an outstanding regular season and finished the year 36-4. Luca Garofalo '24 and Sam Wade '24 served as team captains, and the assistant captains were Anthony Messina '24 and Michael Matthews '24.

US Hockey is a space where I have met some of my closest friends and fostered some of my best relationships. Squash
Squash defeated Milton Academy 5-2 to win the consolation bracket of the Division ll National High School Championships. The team finished the season 16-3 keeping their #1 ranking in the 61-team scholastic division. They had an individual match record of 104 wins to 27 losses. Serving as team captains were Joey Applebaum '24, Chase Greppin '24, and Fernando Hokello '24.

I’ve transitioned from seeing myself in the reflection of the back wall to seeing through it to my teammates behind. Swimming & Diving
Swimming and Diving won the program's ninth OHSAA Division II State Championship in dominating fashion. Finishing in first place were the 200 medley (1:34.13) and the 400 freestyle (3:07.58) relays. Serving as team captains were Ben Davis '24, Matthew Devine '24, and Miguel Figueroa '24.
"US Swimming has had a monumental impact on my life. It has taught me commitment, collaboration, and responsibility. Most importantly, through all the success we have found in my four years, it has taught me to compete with heart and win with humility."
Wrestling
Wrestling competed against many of the best programs in Northeast Ohio throughout the regular season. Doyle Grosz '27, Phin Kasubick '27 and Mac Hurley '27 all qualified for the OHSAA District Tournament. Oliver Thomas '24 and Noah Quisenberry '24 served as team captains.
“Although an individual sport, the wrestlers at US have a unique bond. This sport has worked me mentally and physically harder than anything I have ever done. That work not only forged a better man out of me, but it helped forge a family for every wrestler to be united, both in and out of school.”
