Charlie Morgan ’26 Turns Childhood Dreams into Reality Through the Disney College Program

For Charlie Morgan ‘26, Disney is more than just a place of nostalgia. It's the setting for a dream come true.

"When I was little, I had a dream of working at Disney World. I wrote a letter to Disney Imagineering when I was 7 or 8 describing my aspirations, as well as an idea I had for their company. They replied encouraging me to work hard and that one day I could work for Disney."

Thanks to the Disney College Program, Charlie now works as a concierge at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. His days are filled with a variety of tasks, each contributing to the guest experience.

One of the more unique aspects of the job involves being a "runner," which allows Charlie to deliver amenities, assist with technical issues, and even drive company vehicles to retrieve lost items. "I find it a lot of fun getting to do so much – I’m never bored, and no two guests are the same."

The most rewarding part of the program for Charlie is making a positive impact on guests.

“I feel so fulfilled here. I truly get to create magic for so many people, and anytime I get to create magic for them, I feel so rewarded."

One memorable experience stands out in particular. "My favorite memory comes from my second week in the Program," Charlie recalled. " I was going through a routine check-in with a woman and her family. It was their first trip, it was the woman’s birthday, and I discovered they were from my hometown in Massachusetts. We bonded so much that I decided to send them a bit of magic to their room. They would come visit me occasionally throughout their trip to update me on all the fun they’d been having - I cherished those moments."

Charlie has applied a range of skills gained in the classroom at Curry to thrive throughout the program.

"A class that definitely helped with my time here was Intercultural Communications," he shared. "At Disney, we’re visited by people from all over the world. That class gave me the tools to better understand and connect with guests from diverse backgrounds." Additionally, the supportive environment at Curry gave him the confidence to pursue this opportunity.

After applying for the program, going through the interview process, and learning that he was accepted, Charlie was able to sort out all of his credits with the help of the Psychology Department internship coordinator, Dr. Mia Khera.

"Curry’s emphasis on personal growth and real-world experience really pushed me to take this leap."

Because of this experience, Charlie's career goals have evolved, and the possibilities ahead are filled with excitement and promise.

"I really love my job here, and I’m excited to graduate from Curry and potentially apply my psychology degree in new ways for the Disney Company."
