This Week at Evergreen

The older you get, the more complex life can seem. Black-and-white gets clouded with gray. Things you once took for granted no longer seem so certain. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - it can be a healthy part of maturing. But as life gets more complicated, it's important not to lose sight of the essentials. In this four-week series, we consider four essentials of the Christian faith.

Love Your Neighbor Gift Collection

Evergreen is collecting new, unwrapped gifts, stocking stuffers, and gift wrapping supplies for Love Your Neighbor so that local, under-resourced families can experience joy this Christmas season. Stop by the Welcome Center to pick up gift ideas. Bring your unwrapped donations to Evergreen’s Welcome Center by December 1.

Love Your Neighbor also needs volunteers December 6 from 3-9pm and December 7 from 9am-12pm for their Community Christmas event which helps local, under-resourced families shop for gifts and connection during the Christmas season. Stop by Evergreen’s Welcome Center for more information.

Ladies Night Out

Ladies, come for a night of fun and fellowship on Monday, December 9 in the courtyard from 6:30-8:30pm. Bring 2 dozen of your favorite homemade, bakery made, or store-bought Christmas cookies to share with others. Please have all of your cookies packaged individually (bags are available at the sign-up table). Sign up in the courtyard at the Welcome Center.

Apple Pies for the Holidays

There are some pies still available from the youth. Pies are $12. Please contact Chris (chris@egm.org) if you would like to purchase one. This is the last week they will be available.

Christmas Concert

The band Unspoken is coming to Evergreen on Friday, December 13 at 7pm for a special acoustic Christmas show. Unspoken is mostly known for their Christian radio hits like “Reason” and “Start a Fire.” The lead singer, Chad Mattson, gained much of the inspiration for his music from his experience coming to God and recovering from years of addiction. There will be some special VIP tickets available at an additional cost to come earlier for a Q & A with the band in the Sycamore room. Tickets are available to the general public as well, so if you would like to attend, purchase your tickets as soon as possible.

Christmas Talent Show

We will be doing a Christmas Talent Show this year as our Christmas show. If you have a talent you would like to share, email David (david@egm.org) and let us know what you would like to do/perform (it can be Christmas related but doesn't have to be). This is open to every age from our youth to the adults. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, December 4 by noon. Let's celebrate the creativity our Maker has given each of us!

Giving at Evergreen

You can find ways to give to Evergreen in a variety of ways. As you consider your giving, know that, as always, all tithes and offerings go to support our youth ministries (birth-12th grade), recovery, the arts (music, drama, visual arts, dance), multiple outreaches, and many more ministries. If you are interested in giving to the work we are doing, you can do so by clicking the link below.

4 Corners Offering

For November, our corners offering partner is Children's Hope Chest. They partner North American communities to overseas communities who have high populations of orphaned and impoverished children, called Care Points. Evergreen supports a community in Aware', Ethiopia.
