This flyer of events has been updated to include Finals Testing at the end of the semester and the Graduation Rehearsal date has changed to May 23rd.

College Ready

By law, students must complete the financial aid application requirement for graduation. Seniors must take one of the following actions:

  • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Complete and submit the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
  • Submit a signed opt-out form

12th Graders:

  • Seniors need to be sure that they have taken care of all their credit hours if they have been excessively absent (excused & unexcused) more than 9 days per semester. Last day to make-up hours is Saturday, May 11th. Otherwise, seniors may continue to attend mornings at 7:25 am Mon. - Fri. or evenings from 3:50 pm - 4:20 pm in the ISS room.
  • Seniors need to be sure that all their dues/fees are paid before graduation.
  • It is important to know that there can be no writings, decorations or emblems on any graduation items worn, includes cap, gown and stoles.
  • More information about graduation will be forthcoming.

Our Sinton ISD January Pirate Award was awarded to Stephanie Hajducek, founder of "This One's for the Gals" with the mission to help girls in grades K-12 with career exploration and workforce development in the construction, energy and manufacturing industries. Congratulations, Stephanie!

Our 3rd Annual Faculty vs Softball Slowpitch Softball Game! We had a blast! And, of course, staff won...by a land slide!

FEBRUARY 2024

Best practices utilized in our Math classes with student collaboration, C3B4Me, agendas and learner objectives posted and reviewed, and displays of student products! Math Rocks!
Science classes also utilize best practices with innovative spacing as they comfortably work on sentence stems and scenarios through small group, student collaboration.
Hands-on learning and problem solving as students work as a team to build various gears and make measurements in their PLTW Engineering classes.
A celebration of FFA Week! The students enjoyed cooking and serving up some great pancakes and breakfast for staff as we celebrated FFA Week. Staff also decorated classroom doors for the FFA Door Contest.
Our Debate team swept top spots for the fifth year in a row at the UIL District CX Debate earning a spot at State in March. Junior's Madilynn Perez and Keira Rodriguez went undefeated and took 1st Place! Junior Canden Serrano and senior Benjamin Herrera took 2nd Place! These winnings give Sinton the opportunity to compete at 4A State the last weekend of Spring Break. We also have over 40 points in our quest to win Speech Team at UIL District.
Medical assistant senior students ended their hard work with oral presentations of health disorders. Phlebotomy juniors ended their hard work completing capillary sticks in preparation for venipuncture.

Health Science students "Neuron-ing" their way to Great Things!
The regional PTECH schools met in our library this month as an initial meeting to share ideas and collaborate. We learned some strategies that will help us to implement for next year that will help provide more structure and positive gains in incentivizing our students to work towards at least 1 CCMR point. Juniors and Seniors next year will need to earn or be working on earning a CCMR point before they are awarded with an off-period and/or office aide period.
Many of our seniors had the opportunity to attend the Sinton Community Career Expo at the Civic Center on Feb. 29th.
Our future incoming freshmen students were toured around campus visiting elective classes to help them decide the program of study they will take for their 4 year career at SHS. They visited health science classes, theatre arts, engineering classes, choir, forensic science, floral design, and Ag classes.
Our Lady Pirates had an awesome season! Congratulations, ladies!
Signing day for Colby Hesseltine. Congratulations, Colby! Colby will continue his education and athletic career collegiately at Texas A & M Kingsville to play football.

OUR VISION

Reminders & info.:

  • Please call SHS for any COVID related issues.
  • Please continue to call the campus when your child will be absent.
  • Every student should take the TSI college entrance exam (Texas Success Initiative). It is an exam used for college placement that measures college readiness in reading, writing, and math with testing 20-25 items per section. Encourage your child to take this exam even if they decide not to attend college.
