2024 - 2025 YEAR AT A GLANCE

FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

On Palm Sunday, we begin Holy Week, a time of reflection and reverence in our Catholic faith. Today, we commemorate Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where crowds joyously welcomed Him with palm branches and cries of "Hosanna!" This heartfelt expression of adoration, praise, and entreaty recognized Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah and Savior.

The waving of palm branches symbolized honor, victory, and His kingship, representing humanity's hope for salvation. Let us draw inspiration from this significant event as we begin Holy Week, deepening our faith, fostering community unity, and embodying Gospel values in our daily lives.

May the unwavering love of God, surpassing sin and death, guide our thoughts, words, and actions. Wishing you a blessed Palm Sunday and a meaningful Holy Week filled with abundant grace and blessings.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“On the next day, when the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, they took palm branche and went out to meet him, and cried out: ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, [even] the king of Israel.’”

Dear Bluejay Family,

Practice, practice, practice was the theme of the week for swim, track, golf, and tennis. While our Bluejays are not actively competing this past week, the spring season kicks off this week with all of our teams except swimming on Tuesday. This is in part due to the shortened week because of Holy Week. The Athletic Department wishes all of our Bluejays a very blessed Holy Week and Happy Easter!

Please see the information below regarding cheer tryouts for next year. This week there will be a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, March 27th at 6:00 pm in Mrs. Taylor’s classroom for those girls’ parents that are interested in cheering for next year.

In an effort to improve our athletic programs at St. Cecilia, it was felt that a comprehensive athletic handbook was needed. This handbook affects players, coaches, parents, and fans. Parent/guardian completion of this form and adherence to the rules and regulations outlined in the handbook are requirements for participation in athletic programs at St. Cecilia School. The link below will take you to the handbook. It is also on the school website for reference as well. Thank you all for your continued support of SCS Athletics.

For those that have already completed the acknowledgement form, and want to refresh themselves on the rules and regulations, please follow the link below.

****We are so proud of our SCS 7/8th Grade football, 5th Grade White and 7th Grade volleyball teams' fantastic accomplishments this fall. We can now officially celebrate our championships in volleyball and football by purchasing apparel from Action Specialties. These are school approved and can be worn as part of the school uniform. There is a tab on the top horizontal bar for championship apparel. Thanks again for your support of SCS Athletics!

***Thank you for your support of SCS Athletics! To keep up with the schedule for our Bluejays, please follow the link below. Admission into League games are $6 for adults and $1 for kids. SCS staff and students are admitted free.

Have a blessed day,
