The clothes are out! Take advantage of this week while it is out and get some clothes! Maybe your kids ripped their clothes. Maybe they had a growth spurt. Whatever it is, take some clothes. It is out in the lobby for this week only!

Safety Week Is Here!

Parents,

Please keep an eye out for Lincoln’s IG stories. There you will find information on Safety Week. Elementary students will have an assembly by an employee from Family Haven on Monday. David from Light the Fight Podcast will come Friday to talk with the JR High. https://www.lightthefight.com/bio Please talk with your students this week. Help us educate them on these topics Drugs, Weapons/Suicide (suicide will be JR High only) and Child Abuse. We are excited to help educate your students this week. On Wednesday the 11th of October will be FREE DRESS DAY. Elementary can wear Orange(awareness on Weapons Safety) and JR High can wear Yellow(awareness on Suicide Prevention).

Wednesday Dress Day

Incase you didn't read the last paragraph super closely, Wednesday is free dress day! But with a catch . . . Elementary can wear orange for weapons safety, and Junior High can wear yellow for suicide prevention. Thank you all for your support, we're excited to spread awareness!

JR. High Halloween Dance . . . Or a Barbie Dance?

All Jr. High students are invited to a Halloween dance on Tuesday, October 31st from 3-4:30 PM. It will be for all junior high students and will be held in the Elementary gym at Lincoln Academy. The theme of the dance will be “Barbie and Ken’s Haunted Dream House,” Costumes are approved to wear at the dance and during class time. No weapons (look alike weapons), masks or "blood" of any kind will be allowed. The costumes must also be modest and not offend any group of people. Staff members need to be able to identify students in costume. Jr. High students WILL NOT be participating in the elementary parade.

Elementary Halloween Parade

The Elementary student kindergarten-6th grade, will participate in a Halloween Parade. The parade will start promptly at 1:45pm on Tuesday, October 31st. Parents are invited to view the parade outside, please dress accordingly. All families attending will enter the back of the school through the gates on either side of the school. In the case of bad weather, the parade will be held in the elementary gym. Parents helping with class parties, please remember to sign in at the front office and get your “visitor badge”. This will take extra time with the number of visitors coming so please plan your time accordingly.

Kindergarten Halloween Parade

AM kindergarten will be doing their parade at 10:35am. The students will walk the halls of Lincoln, for students and families to watch. PM kindergarten will participate with the rest of the elementary at 1:45pm.

Battle of the Books

With Fall Break coming up, now would be a great time to get some of these books going if you haven’t already. We LOVE Battle of the Books and are grateful to you for encouraging your 2-5th graders to read. Our goal is to have a positive experience reading different types of books throughout the year. Auditions For All Grades!

We've got exciting news for our students! Elementary has auditions for Cinderella and Junior high has auditions for Frozen! View below for more information.

HOW TO PREPARE

  1. Sign up for an audition time HERE
  2. Fill out the audition form HERE
  3. Research the show - ideally by watching the movie that the show is based on (Frozen) and listening to the songs in the show (can be found on YouTube HERE). You can also google the show for the synopsis!
  4. Prepare a memorized 16 bar (or 45 second) cut (aka section) of a musical theater song in the style of the show. Practice along with a karaoke/minus track. No acapella auditions! REMINDER: absolutely NO ONE can sing any Frozen related song! Please and thank you!
  5. Memorize and prepare one of these monologues. CLICK HERE to access the document
  6. Come to your audition prepared to have fun and show us the fruits of your hard work! Break a leg everyone!

Junior High Saturday School

Junior High Saturday School

This Saturday, Oct 14th, the Junior High will hold Saturday School from 9:00am to 12:00pm. A few Teachers will be here to facilitate students who still have work to complete. This will be the students last chance to turn in any missing work before the term is over. Junior High Students who still need to turn in missing work are invited to attend. Dress code for free dress days apply to Saturday School.
