Final Qualifier

On Thursday, May 16th, the Mammoths competed at the Final Qualifier meet, hosted by MIT. David Brown broke his own School Record in the Discus!

4x100 Relay

The first event on the track of the day was the 4x100 Relay preliminaries, which the relay team of Ben Bell, Cody Pierce, Alex Nichols and Jordan Harrison won in a time of 41.21 seconds! They came back for the final in short notice and won in a time of 41.47 seconds!

Ian Dopp ran a brave race, taking the lead from the gun in an effort to push the pace. Ian put in a valiant effort and placed fifth in a time of 9:30.

100 Hurdles

Due to timing system issues, Eliza Cardwell's time in the preliminary round of the 100 Hurdles was not captured accurately, however she was clearly the winner of her heat. Mads Rabb, Emma Ramsingh, Casie Eifrig and Carolina Andrade all competed in the event as well.

The timing issues resolved for the final, which Eliza won in a time of 14.20 seconds, a season best time!

The Men's 800 was divided into two heats, and Parker Boyle won the first heat and Ben Davis won the second heat, with Ben winning the event with the fastest time of the day! Parker ran a well-executed race in the first heat, seizing the lead in the final 200 meters of the race to win the race in a time of 1:52! Ben battled for the win of his heat, fighting all the way to the finish line to win his heat and the 800 overall in a time of 1:52!

Long Jump

Adrian Friedman placed sixth in the Long Jump, jumping a mark of 6.80 meters (22' 3.75"). In the Women's Long Jump, Héloïse Hughes placed second with a jump of 5.22 meters (17' 1.5").

Discus

On his second throw, David Brown broke his own School Record in the Discus, throwing a mark of 49.40 meters (162' 1") to second in the event! 

Javelin

Carolina Andrade placed fourth in the Javelin, throwing a mark of 39.29 meters (128' 11"), her second best throw of the season!

Jordan Harrison placed third in the 100 Preliminaries, running a time of 10.68 seconds!

Héloïse Hughes placed third in the 200 in a time of 25.84 seconds!

In the Men's 200, Cody Pierce placed fourth in a time of 21.77 seconds!

The Mammoths competed well in the final meet before Nationals, and we are so grateful for the family, friends and team members who came to support the Mammoths!

UP NEXT for the Mammoths is the Division III Track and Field National Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! The meet will start on Thursday, May 23rd and continue on Friday, May 24th and conclude on Saturday, May 25th.

We are excited to announce our seven Nationals Qualifiers! Myeh Medina will compete in the 400 Hurdles, Eliza Cardwell will compete in the 100 Hurdles, Michael Abbey will compete in the Triple Jump, Zoë Marcus will compete in the 800, Emma Ramsingh will compete in the Discus, Julia Schor will compete in the 1,500 and Parker Boyle will compete in the 800!

The competition schedule for the Mammoths is as follows: Thursday, May 23rd: 3 PM - Emma Ramsingh in the Discus. 5:35 PM - Julia Schor in the 1,500. 6:10 PM - Myeh Medina in the 400 Hurdles. Friday, May 24th: 4:10 PM - Eliza Cardwell in the 100 Hurdles. 6 PM - Zoë Marcus in the 800. 6:15 PM - Parker Boyle in the 800. Saturday, May 25th: 1 PM - Michael Abbey in the Triple Jump. On Saturday, The 1,500 final will be held at 4:25 PM, the 100 Hurdles final will be held at 4:50 PM, the Women's 800 final will be held at 5:50 PM, the Men's 800 final will be held at 6 PM and the 400 Hurdles final will be held at 6:15 PM.
