The Photographer's Gift is...

The Photographer's Gift is...

To create something that never existed before.

To utilize modern technology to capture natural moments.

To capture the exquisite beauty and authenticity of another human being.

To tell a story through pictures which cannot be fully expressed in words.

To create meaningful connections with perfect strangers.

To create a way to remember the forgotten.

To document the present so that it forever lives in the past.

To move forward with the future and prepare for surprises.

To manipulate the blazing sun into a majestic glow.

To attempt a mystical representation of the moon and never stop trying.

To transform an ordinary landscape into an enchanted terrain.

To learn the rules and follow the science.

To break the rules and change the art.

To compose the shot according to the grid.

To tilt the angles and devise something unexpected.

To embrace the shadows and bring light into the dark.

To enhance the sky and reveal its true glory.

To brave the weather and dance in the rain.

To turn innovative ideas into intellectual property.

To perceive the world through a prime lens.

To conceive mistakes as happy accidents.

To magnify the microscopic.

To take advantage of wide angles.

To orchestrate an optical illusion.

To distort delusions into reality.

To saturate the sublime and showcase the surreal.

To convince those who see in Black and White that the world is full of vibrant colors.

To select black and white for drama and contrast.

To teach students to think outside of the frame.

To impact society to make necessary changes.

To encourage emotion and risk romance.

To entertain and amuse the nervous and the uncomfortable.

To infuse positive energy into the downhearted.

To accept and record the distraught exactly as they are.

To record an infinite amount of animal antics and wildlife wonder.

To move with motion.

To remain still in stillness.

To make the impossible possible.

The Photographer is a Gift.

The photos on this Web Page were all taken in 2023.

Last year I photographed 82 High School Students, 6 Families, 4 Events, 3 Newborns, 1 Wedding, 3 Restaurants, 1 Commercial Real Estate Property, 1 Automobile for Auction, and 1 Homeschooled Preschool Student.

It's always fun to see what genre of photography gets the most of my attention in a given year. In the last two years It was clearly High School Students. In 2020 and 2021 it was by far Food Photography for Restaurants. In 2019 and 2018 Newborns were off the charts.

Having such a diverse career certainly makes life interesting. I have some personal and business goals of getting back into traveling and breaking into the tourism industry through Content Creation and Photography.

I've also started uploading some Courses, Landscapes, Gift Certificates, eBooks, Paintings, and the 2024 Booking Site is now available. Check out my Shop below.

"Time Machine." September 29, 2023. Norwich Free Academy Class of 1973 50th Reunion.

Photography is a real living time machine. A photograph is your own personal journey into the past. A photo album is your own Storybook, Science Fiction Novel, or Comic Strip. A photograph is evidence that time existed, life was lived, places were traveled, people were met, laughs were had, and adventures were experienced.
