2nd Grade Explores Local History at Chenango County Historical Society
Second grade students recently traveled to the Chenango County Historical Society and Museum for a hands-on learning experience focused on local history. During their visit, students explored exhibits and historical artifacts that provided a glimpse into what life was like in earlier times. The trip gave students an opportunity to connect classroom lessons with real-world examples while learning about the people, places, and events that helped shape their community. Students enjoyed examining artifacts up close, asking thoughtful questions, and making connections to topics they have been studying in class. The experience helped bring history to life and provided a meaningful opportunity to learn about the past through firsthand exploration.
Field trips such as this one help students deepen their understanding of classroom concepts while encouraging curiosity and discovery.
