Daria Jones, an international artist hailing from New Jersey delivers a euphoric message of love. She brings a light of encouragement in the brilliance of her musical performances and when she speaks. The artist has performed as a U.S Ambassador in Samoa, Honduras, Europe, Asia and Middle East. Her talent as a supporting vocalist has led her to collaborate with renowned celebrity artists, with performances featured on major television networks such as ABC, NBC, and BET. Outside of entertainment, Daria is an educator and youth empowerment couch. She founded the D.O.L.L (Deserving Opportunities for Lovely Ladies) House, a mentorship program designed to empower girls and young ladies to become balanced young women through various workshops and activities, giving them the tools to help protect their future. Through her artistry and commitment to empowerment, is not just an artist but a catalyst for positive change, leaving an indelible mark on hearts and minds around the world.
INTENTION STATEMENT
Embarking on my Mastery Journey this winter of 2024 with Full Sail University's Entertainment Business master's program is fueled by a deep-seated desire to expand and refine my understanding of the entertainment industry both personally and professionally. This is a decision that I have toggled with for the past 4 years and I finally made a decision. Having dedicated considerable time to the performance aspect of the business, I recognize the importance of delving into the intricacies that drive and sustain the field.
My primary intention for the next 12 months is to unravel the science behind the entertainment business, gaining a comprehensive comprehension of what propels it forward. By arming myself with this knowledge, I am confident in my ability not only to advance my own career but to serve as a valuable resource to others within the industry.
Throughout this Mastery Journey, I am eager to acquire insightful tools that will not only enhance my personal trajectory but also empower those around me. The prospect of crafting a meticulous business plan is particularly exciting, as it promises to be a cornerstone in steering my career and ventures in the right direction. Additionally, delving into business finance and advanced entertainment law will provide me with a robust foundation, allowing me to navigate the multifaceted components of the entertainment industry.
As a creative individual, I recognize the need to marry artistic flair with a solid understanding of the business landscape. Reflecting on my original Mastery: Personal Development and Leadership (PDL) timeline goal for this course, I am amazed at how much this course has influenced my approach to managing my entertainment business.
Short-Term Goals: Mastering Time Management, Embracing "No," and Writing a Business Blueprint
Before taking this course, my short-term goals focused on mastering time management, saying "no" when necessary, and drafting a comprehensive business blueprint. The EBF course gave me the tools and knowledge to achieve these goals effectively. I now better understand allocating my time and resources efficiently through understanding financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting. The concept of opportunity cost, which involves evaluating the return on the best option not chosen versus the return on the option selected, has been particularly enlightening. This course has helped me make more informed choices about the projects I wish to pursue and which to decline, ensuring that I stay aligned with my business goals and priorities.
