Transition Year
Introduction
The Transition Year (TY) Programme in Irish secondary schools is a one-year educational experience designed to bridge the gap between the Junior and Senior Cycles. Its goal is to promote personal, social, and academic development while fostering maturity and independence. The programme includes a broad curriculum that combines core academic subjects with a wide range of innovative modules such as enterprise, coding, drama, and art. Students also engage in work experience, offering insights into various careers and practical skills for the future. Key aspects include community involvement, volunteering, and civic projects, fostering social responsibility and empathy. Students also develop life skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership through workshops and outdoor activities. If you are interested in being considered for a place in transition year 2026/27
All applications must be submitted online
All application forms must be returned on or before Friday 13th February 2026 @ 4pm The total cost of Transition Year is €600. If a place is offered a deposit of €250 will be required to secure your place. The balance of monies must be paid by September 1st 2026. All monies are payable through the school App only.
