Note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! It has been another great week of learning at Swinton Queen! We have a few updates for you, so please take a look - including at the updates dates section at the end of the newsletter.

Please be aware that if your child is not going to be in school for any reason, we ask that you please make contact with the school office before 9:30am. Please do not send a message to class teachers via Dojo regarding attendance as they won't always see it in time. Our office admin team are your main point of contact when it comes to your child's attendance. Thank you for understanding - we need to be sure that all of our children are safe.

Next Tuesday (10th October) is World Mental Health Day so we'd like to invite children to come to school dressed in bright colours to mark this day.

Next Friday (13th October) for those who have consented Flu vaccinations will be taking place. The are administered as a nasal spray and should cause minimal discomfort.

The tickets for our Halloween Disco are selling quickly. We still on sale from reception for £3 each, get them whilst you can! All funds raised go to our new PTA. We've had a few people ask about costumes - they are very welcome but children are free to dress however they feel comfortable.

Attendance this week:

A round up of the week's events
The lovely team from Rotherham Creative Learning Centre visited us again this week and delivered a very exciting Family Learning session where children made scribble bots.
Craft clubs kicked off this week and have been very well attended! Our Halloween disco is going to be the best decorated event in town
Online Safety

This week's information about Online Safety provides information about the app: Among Us. Don't forget you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.

If you'd like more information from National Online Safety, try their app which is available to download.

Attendance Expectations
Uniform Expectations

Please support your children by ensuring they are following the required uniform expectations, including on PE days. Children should be dressed in a yellow or black polo shirt and black trousers, skirt, shorts or plain black leggings. Yellow gingham dresses may also be worn. Black cardigans or hoodies can be worn with or without the school logo. For PE, children need their white school PE top or plain white T-shirt and black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. No football shirts please. Please may we remind you to label your child's uniform with their name.

Dates for your Diary
Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.

At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
