A creative grant helps fourth graders explore the art of pottery.
We are proud to share that OV teacher Mary Ellen Cantrell has once again been awarded a 2025 Grants for Teachers award through the Chenango Arts Council -- her second year in a row!
With the support of this grant, Ms. Cantrell will work with our fourth grade students to create coil pots in art class, with help from art teacher Miriah Lawrence. Students will spend several class periods building their pots before glazing and firing them in Ms. Cantrell’s kiln.
We are so grateful for community programs like the Chenango Arts Council’s Grants for Teachers that make opportunities like this possible for our students.
