Pirate Patterns nursery, summer term, week 11

The class are loving our learning about pirates and seaside adventures. This week has there has been a deepening in our understanding of pattern (with a pirate theme of course).

Creating different types of repeating patterns.

We have completed pattern challenges. The favourite was to see how long we could continue an alternating pattern for, it turns out a very long time, possibly infinitely if the resources didn't run out.

Building chunks together.
The children suggested seeing if the pattern was taller than them but knew if they stood it up straight it would break.
Look at the length of this one!

We explored freestyle pattern making and symbols in our painting with Miss Bonner. Can you spot the sea theme in the artwork?

Painting collaboratively on a large scale.

It has been a noisy week with pirates running around everywhere, especially with Mrs Wilson getting carried away with firing the cannons. Some fabulous role play happening in our explorer zone.

Only two weeks of term left! If for any reason you are struggling to access Seesaw, please let us know. It is common to need a new printout of your log in code, so please just let us know if we can help you. There are many more photos to see that are unique to your child. Thanks.
