About Me
As an innovative educator and instructional designer, I am passionate about using technology to elevate learning for both students and teachers. With a foundation in elementary education and a growing specialization in educational technology, I design hands-on, inclusive, and future-focused experiences. Currently, I co-teach in a 4th-grade classroom while serving on district-level leadership teams, including the AI Task Force, Apple Innovation Team, and Curriculum Writing Team. I bring curiosity and creativity into every role, whether I'm developing microlearning PD for educators, building digital resources, or piloting new tools that enhance instruction and student outcomes. I enjoy experimenting with emerging EdTech platforms like School.AI and WeWillWrite, and I'm especially drawn to tools that support personalized learning. I have led professional development sessions on AI in education, best practices for digital platforms, and instructional strategies that promote engagement and confidence for both students and teachers in the classroom. Outside of school, I love learning through exploration. Whether it's exploring new devices, designing infographics, or helping others grow their digital toolkit. I thrive most when I'm supporting fellow educators and discovering new ways to make learning more meaningful. I believe teaching is not just about content but creating experiences that last. And for me, technology is a powerful lens through which I can do exactly that.
Current Work Experience
Fourth Grade Elementary Teacher In my role as a fourth-grade co-teacher, I collaboratively design and deliver standards-aligned instruction that supports the academic and social-emotional needs of diverse learners. I incorporate hands-on learning and thoughtfully selected educational technologies to enhance students’ engagement, differentiate instruction, and promote digital literacy within the classroom. Beyond my teaching responsibilities, I contribute to district innovation and instructional improvement through active participation on our AI Taskforce, Apple Innovation Team, and Curriculum Writing Team. In these leadership roles, I support technology integration initiatives, assist in developing curriculum resources, and provide guidance on the implementation of emerging new digital tools. I also design and help facilitate professional development for educators. This includes a digital implementation guide for ExactPath, as well as previously leading sessions on platforms such as School AI and WeWillWrite. All are designed to help teachers integrate digital tools. Through this work, I support my colleagues in adopting evidence-based practices that enhance their instructional effectiveness.
Goals and Professional Development
Technology is something that genuinely excites me. I've always loved experimenting with new tools, devices, and platforms on my own just to see what they can do. More importantly, how they might benefit learners. As a fourth-grade teacher, this curiosity has naturally shaped the way I teach. I enjoy creating hands-on, interactive learning experiences for my students and helping fellow teachers feel more confident with technology in their own classrooms. I love teaching others, which is why I've led professional development sessions for my colleagues on how to use different instructional tools; one focused on an AI-based platform and one centered on a non-AI digital tool. My long-term goal is to grow into an educational technology role where I can support schools and educators on a broader scale, designing meaningful digital learning experiences and helping teachers use technology to make their work easier and more impactful. I aim to make a positive difference in my profession and community by promoting thoughtful, accessible, and ethical use of technology. Being part of our district's AI Taskforce and Apple Innovation Team has allowed me to advocate for tools that truly help students learn and support teachers in ways that feel realistic and manageable. I want to continue being the person who encourages others to explore new ideas, who makes technology feel less daunting, and who helps build a culture where innovation supports educators. To continue growing as a professional, I plan to strengthen my instructional design skills and expand my proficiency in key EdTech tools. This includes developing stronger abilities in digital storytelling, multimedia creation, microlearning design, and utilizing various storyboard and course-building platforms. I am also committed to learning more about responsible AI integration and staying informed about emerging technologies in education. I plan to continue participating in professional development, attending workshops, collaborating with technology-focused teams, and challenging myself to explore new tools independently. Most of all, I will continue learning because experimenting with technology is something I genuinely love, and it drives me to create better experiences for both students and teachers.
Instructional Design Models/Approaches
My instructional design approach is rooted in a blended model that combines Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the ADDIE Model, while also incorporating the TPACK framework to guide an educational technology integration. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) ensures accessibility for all students by providing multiple pathways to engage with content, access information, and demonstrate understanding. The ADDIE Model consists of five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. These phases guide a systematic creation, delivery, and assessment for effective learning experiences for all. TPACK helps me make more intentional choices about digital tools (technology) that align with both the content and pedagogy. Together, these frameworks allow me to create inclusive, engaging, and purpose-driven learning experiences that are grounded in best practices and enhanced through the thoughtful use of technology.
